Last week, a lovely bunch of women started Level 1 on Wednesdays (at 11.30-2pm). There were a few empty seats but everyone had a good time.

The next day, a flurry of people who thought they were too late meant that all bar one seat has bow been filled! The first group have kindly agreed to take a week off, and those who have signed up late can now complete the work missed at the usual time.

This means that there is now ONE seat available starting this Wednesday - 22nd July. If anyone would like to grab a seat, this is your chance! You won't be able to book directly on the website, so send me a message here, comment below, or email [email protected] to get booked in.

It's fastest fingers first and seats are only secured when they have been paid for (£275 for the block of about 11-12 weeks.)

So what are you waiting for !? This is the universe giving you a second chance to join in...

Aaannnndd we're back! Our holiday in Cornwall was fabulous but we're back and hard at it already. A lack of WiFi on holiday forced me to step back but also means no promotion of the next batch of classes. There are a few spaces left on each of the next ones if anyone is interested!

Level 1: Wednesdays (starts tomorrow) at 11.30am - 2pm
Level 2: Thursdays (starts this week) at 11.30am - 2pm
Level 3: Mondays at 6.30-9pm from 27th July and Tuesdays at 10am-12.30pm from 28th July
Stretch Class: Wednesdays at 6.30-9pm from 29th July

There are also 2 workshops available to book:

The Brush Roll Workshop is this Saturday (18th July) at 2-5pm. This is suitable for complete beginners.

The Wine Bottle Bag Workshop is on Saturday 25th July (National Cheese & Wine Day!) at 2-5.30pm. This is for people who have done at least a little sewing before and understand how to keep a seam allowance, edgestitch and back tack.

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Not a wine drinker? Neither am I! So I made the perfect bag to carry a couple of bottles of 🤣. Perfect for a picnic on a day like today.

Today was the first Wine Bottle Bag Workshop and aren't they fab! Well done to all participants. Lots of steps - some very foutery - but everyone made a brilliant bag. Sadly, they will need to provide their own wine, though there may have been some attempts to accidentally go home with a bottle or two....

If you want to make your own bag, there are spaces next Friday (29th May) at 1.30-4.30, or sign up to the newsletter to be told about all future workshops and classes.

There is just 1 space left for the Level 1 class starting next Thursday evening at 6.30pm-9pm. It will be a wee wait for the next one. There will be no classes between 26th June and 10th July. Reach out if you're concerned about needing to miss a week or two and we'll talk about your options, including free catch up classes.

What are you waiting for?!

Why book The Auld Atelier?

I'm Lisa and I have both a degree in Fashion Technology and a PGDE in teaching. I aim to get you sewing AND understanding what you're doing so you can go on to follow patterns at home to make whatever you would like. Each level covers so many skills and vocabulary that you will feel confident giving things a go.

But holidays are coming up. I won't be able to make every week and I don't want to pay for a course knowing that I'll be missing classes. Fear not! I don't want you to miss out either so I work hard to work with you to offer FREE catch up classes so you can take that holiday/be sick/move house/entertain visitors and still keep up with your class. Most people who sign up end up coming for at least a year. I guarantee that in that time we will ALL need a little time off.

So what do you get for your money? £275 is a lot of money - is it worth it? I can only point you to the reviews on Google from others who have signed up to The Auld Atelier, and let you know that you will receive a tote bag for all your things, workbook to build up with all your samples of new skills, patterns for everything you make, the resources you need for every small project you make, and use of the machines and tools (you don't need to invest in a sewing machine or anything else before you get the bug and decide that you want to stick with it!).

And of course, there is a huge tea, coffee & hot chocolate menu as well as cake every week.

All that for less than £10 an hour or £25 a week.

If that's not enough to persuade you, please get in touch with questions. If you've taken any classes at The Auld Atelier, what would you say to people who are still unsure...?

Did you know there are lots of international wine days every year? What better way to celebrate than by making your own wine bottle bag in which you can safely carry two bottles of wine, juice, water - whatever you would like!

This workshop is for people who are comfortable back tacking, following a seam allowance and edgestitching. It is fully lined and has a divider between the bottles. You will get to choose your fabric and it will be cut & ready to sew on the day.

Book a space now!
