🗳️ 🗳️Big Elections: It’s time to gear up for the elections again!
Nominations starts on the 5th - 16th of February.
Your active participation ensures that our student body is represented effectively.

Hey there 👋

It's that time of the year again when we turn up the volume and roll out the red carpet for Black History Month.

This year, we're all about celebrating, saluting, and honouring our extraordinary sisters – the true Matriarchs of the Movement!

From the fearless Harriet Tubman leading the Underground Railroad to the inimitable Aretha Franklin belting out 'RespeQUEEN,' our sisters have been leaving their fabulous mark on history. They're the divas who didn't just break barriers; they dropped it like it’s hot.

This Black History Month let us honour these extraordinary women who continue to inspire us all. Let's ditch the history books and opt for the 'Herstory' class this month.
Let's amplify their voices and keep the flame of their legacy burning bright by sharing your favourite quotes, facts, and stories about all our incredible sisters.

Together, we can celebrate, salute, and honour the Matriarchs of Movement with the style and enthusiasm they deserve!

📚📚That’s Quality! conference 2023 📚📚

I had an amazing time at the two-day residential event of the annual That's Quality! program for student officers and students' associations which took place .

That’s Quality! training organised by SPARQS is aimed at new and returning student officers and students' association staff with an education remit. It provides a valuable addition to our induction as new officers by introducing sabbs to the quality enhancement agenda and looking at why quality matters to students and how to use it to make change.

It was an awesome experience connecting with fellow officers, sharing ideas, and diving deep into education-related topics. From insightful discussions to practical workshops, every moment was enriching and empowering. 💡✨ Can't wait to use these learnings on our campuses and make a positive impact! 🌟🎉

As we gathered to wave goodbye to an exceptional supporter of our student union Dr Christian Harrison, we couldn’t help but throw confetti 🎊 🎉 🎉 🎊 and extend our warmest congratulations for his new role and adventure as a professor at another university! 📚🎓🧑🏿‍🏫

Dr Harrison’s time at UWS has been nothing short of incredible, his dedication and awesomeness at UWS have been off the charts, and we'll genuinely miss his contagious enthusiasm and brilliant wit.

To the Union he has been the real MVP and an absolute rockstar, and we'll forever cherish the extraordinary support he has given us.

It's that time of year when rainbows rule the skies, glitter fills the air, and love knows no bounds.

Pride Month isn't just about parties and parades, though they're definitely part of the fun 😉.
It's a time to honor the struggles and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community, paying tribute to those who fought for equality. Let's celebrate their resilience and continue the journey towards a more inclusive world.

Let's use this month to educate ourselves and others, raising awareness about LGBTQIA+ challenges and showing unwavering support. Attend workshops, engage in conversations, and listen to the stories of those who've faced discrimination.
