Oxted School is delighted to celebrate another successful year of GCSE results, with students achieving strong outcomes across a broad range of subjects and demonstrating the impact of their hard work, resilience and determination.

This year, almost seven out of every ten students achieved a pass in English and Mathematics, while more than half secured a strong pass (Grade 5 or above) in both subjects. Across all qualifications taken, over 50% of grades awarded were Grade 5 or above, with more than 75% of all grades achieved at Grade 4 or higher.

The results also saw a significant number of students achieving the highest grades, with several students securing exclusively Grades 8 and 9. These outcomes reflect the ambition, commitment and aspiration shown by students throughout their time at Oxted School.

Principal Maurice Devenney said:

"We are incredibly proud of our students and everything they have achieved. These results reflect the hard work and determination of our young people, the dedication of our staff, and the unwavering support of parents and carers. What is particularly pleasing is the strength of performance across the year group and across the curriculum.

Seeing so many students achieve strong passes and secure the grades needed for their next steps is a wonderful reward for all the effort that has gone into their education.

Combined with the excellent post-16 results celebrated last week, these outcomes demonstrate the ambition, talent and positive momentum that continue to drive Oxted School forward."

A-Level and BTEC Results: Oxted School Young People Celebrate Success and Plan Next Steps

“This is a day that they will remember forever”, says proud Principal.

Most of us remember waking up on a day like this, knowing that months of dedication, resilience and hard work would soon be reflected in a set of results. It is a moment filled with anticipation, hope and the promise of what comes next.

Thankfully for young people receiving their A-Level results at Oxted School, today marks a moment of triumph. Parents and staff joined the celebration today in the Main Hall, where results envelopes were opened, shared, and applauded.

Thanks to hard work by staff and dedication by students, 99% of young people can now proceed to their next chosen step. 78% of young people have received their first choice at university. 30 students have achieved a place at Russell Group Universities. Ten students achieved exclusively A and A* grades.

Maurice Devenney, Principal of Oxted School said, "These outstanding results are the culmination of years of dedication, courage and perseverance. We are incredibly proud of every student and delighted to see a year group we believed in so strongly achieve so much. Today marks the beginning of exciting futures."

“This is a day that these young people will remember for the rest of their lives. Over the last two years, they have shown tremendous determination, resilience, and commitment, consistently going above and beyond in their studies and investing countless hours of independent work to achieve their goals. We have always known what this remarkable year group was capable of, and today they have exceeded our high expectations. Their success is a testament to their hard work, ambition and character, and we could not be prouder of all they have achieved."

What comes next for Oxted School leavers?

Thanks to today’s results, young people from Oxted School are heading to a range of destinations:

In September, Ewan M will begin an engineering degree at Durham University. As one of our Student Presidents, Ewan has been keen about this field all through his A-level years.

Simone M starts a Degree Apprenticeship at Binnies, a Civil Engineering company in Redhill, through the University of Brighton.

Three Oxted students are embarking on their Medical School journey: Harrison C starts in September; Emily J and Theo B will start in 2027.

Economics students achieved well and have accepted places at top universities: Dylan G at Warwick University, Joshua G at LSE, and Eugene H at University of Bristol.

Reading History in September are Chloe L-C at University of Cambridge and Louisa F at University of Manchester.

Olivia R will study Architecture at Lancaster University.

✨ Champion House 2025/2026 Announced! ✨

Yesterday, Mrs Connell hosted our House Assembly and shared the news we have all been working towards throughout the year, announcing this year's Champion House!

🎉 Congratulations to Grants! 🎉

Following the success of her charity bake sale and raffle, it was particularly rewarding to see House Captain Bella lift the Champion House Trophy on behalf of Grants. A fantastic achievement and a proud moment for everyone involved.

The hard work, commitment and enthusiasm shown by so many of our students at Oxted has been truly amazing to see. The House system continues to provide countless opportunities for students to get involved, support great causes and demonstrate outstanding teamwork.
