Your September Player of the Month is Dave! 🇪🇷

A fantastic month for Dawit with two goals and three assists in four games.

His contribution to the team off the ball was just as incredible over those matches, bringing intesity and work rate. In September, Dawit covered 36.4km and topped the charts for sprints.

A consistent trainer who has worked hard to get into the starting 11 and wants to stay there.

Very well deserved - well done Dawit!

Swipe for his highlights from September.

RESULT. 3-3 (5-4 pens) L

We bow out of the Clarendon Cup with our heads held high - losing to a team two divisions above on penalties.

Phoenix started well and were almost ahead after 90 seconds as Moayed Adawi played the ball through for .

Phoenix continued to push but Launton took the lead after the referee awarded a penalty for a push in the box, which was coolly slotted away by Kieran Chambers.

Phoenix almost equalised as Youcef El Barhdadi’s curling free kick hit the angle of post and bar but bounced clear in what was probably the best chance for Phoenix in the first half.

Phoenix came out fighting in the second half and were able to level the score at 1-1 after awabm249’s fantastic long ball caught the opposition out and 🥷🏼STAMOONY X CASH 🥷🏼 was able to finish one on one.

Phoenix were well on top at this point and took the lead after Jabir Abdalla superb cross found Dave at the far post to head home.

And Phoenix were further in front after Youcef El Barhdadi’s lofted through ball found Dave who was able to round the keeper before tapping home.

3-1 up with 5 minutes to go should have allowed Phoenix to see the game out, but all credit to who never gave up and were able to pull one back after a far post cross found Jordan Welch-Hayes.

And with the last kick of 90 minutes, Phoenix were caught out as the opposition striker was sandwiched between two Phoenix players resulting in a penalty - which was dispatched to take the game to extra time.

Phoenix had chances in extra time with Dave going close with a free kick and a one on one and awabm249 hitting the bar. Launton continued to exert pressure on the Phoenix goal but no score in extra time meant the game went to penalties.

Unfortunately, Phoenix lost 5-4 in the penalty shootout.

We wish Reserves the very best this season in both the league and the cup. Thank you for your hospitality and we hope to see you again.

RESULT. 2-1 W.

Phoenix get their first away win of the 2026/27 season as they beat a spirited Steventon football club Reserves side 2-1 in their new grey away kit.

Record appearance maker opened the scoring with his first competitive goal for the club at the 34th attempt. Fantastic work from Moayed Adawi kept the ball alive before he cut the ball back to the onrushing to curl home first time from 20 yards.

Phoenix were 2-0 up before the break as Joshua went coast-to-coast, nutmegging the opposition centre back on the way, before placing the ball into the (where it remained for a few moments). An early contender for goal of the season.

Phoenix missed a number of chances throughout, with the opposition keeper making some good saves, and should have been out of sight before Steventon football club Reserves halved the deficit at the death, with Brad Orpin's brilliant dipping free kick finding the net from 20 yards.

But Phoenix were good value for the win, and we look forward to welcoming Steventon football club Reserves to Greyfriars later in the season.

RESULT. 3-2 W.

Phoenix bounce back from last week’s defeat with a battling home performance against a dogged Witney Town FC Development side.

Phoenix made the breakthrough early on when Jamie 249’s brilliant pass released Dave who expertly finished beyond the onrushing keeper.

Phoenix were able to continue the pressure and 1-0 become 2-0 rather contentiously as a through ball from Jamie 249 released Moayed Adawi on the wing. appeared to be in an offside position but didn’t touch the ball. Moayed Adawi then squared for 🥷🏼STAMOONY X CASH 🥷🏼 to finish for his second goal in as many games.

Witney Town FC Devs were back in the game before half time with Ollie Nolan’s superb overhead kick.

Phoenix were in control of the game, but Witney Town never relented and were able to equalise after Ollie Nolan’s hit from 20 yards found the bottom corner.

Phoenix, undeterred, kept playing their game and Moayed Adawi was able to score the winning goal in fine fashion as he whipped past the Witney Town keeper from 25 yards.

Phoenix had chances throughout to extend the lead but were good value for their win despite some late Witney Town pressure.

It was incredible to be nominated for Tuesday’s BBC Oxfordshire Make A Difference Awards.

We were honoured to be highly commended for our work in the community in the Active category.

It was so amazing to be able to share the evening with some of our amazing players, volunteers, supporters, and sponsors. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do! 🧡

Being nominated is a testament to all the work we do to support our community, but we don’t do it for anything other than it being the right thing to. To see our players feel valued, supported, and be given a voice is everything to us.

We can’t wait to continue supporting them as they keep developing into the fantastic people we see every training session, classroom session, and every matchday.

Thank you to Max Novikov for such brilliant photos! 📸
