We were delighted to host Lord William Hague, Chancellor of University of Oxford at our campus in Littlemore on Friday.

A longstanding advocate for the role of research and innovation in driving British prosperity, Lord Hague’s commitment to maintaining the UK’s leadership in science and its real-world applications strongly aligns with our mission.

His emphasis on excellence, and on welcoming the brightest minds from all backgrounds, reflects the values shaping our work as we build a campus designed to deliver scalable solutions to some of humanity’s most pressing challenges.

Grounded in rigorous science and powered by advanced AI capabilities, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible - turning ambition into meaningful impact.

EIT Tops Out! 🎉

Yesterday, we celebrated reaching the highest point of construction on our new EIT Oxford campus, with a topping out ceremony at Littlemore House.

Together with Foster + Partners, Ridge, and Laing O'Rourke, we gathered to admire the traditional crane pass of a fir tree high in the sky. This is a symbol of growth and continuity, marking the inspiring moment the structure is complete and the focus shifts to bringing the building to life. 🏗️ 🌲

Our new campus is rising as a launchpad for ideas, innovation and collaboration. Due to complete in 2027, it will support science at scale: autonomous laboratories, shared learning environments and spaces designed to turn discovery into real-world impact.

Memories made!

🚅 All aboard: Taking the Cowley Branch Line!

Yesterday, leaders from Network Rail, Chiltern Railways, Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire County Council, local MPs, and businesses joined EIT for a symbolic journey along the Cowley Branch Line.

The special service ran from Oxford Parkway through Littlemore, marking the start of a new era for Oxford’s connectivity and growth. For the first time in 60 years, the line came alive again - carrying the people who are making it happen.

👏 Huge thanks to all our partners driving this transformative project forward.

🚦Cowley Branch Line gets the green light!

Today’s announcement from Chancellor Rachel Reeves is a landmark moment for Oxford’s growth and connectivity. After 60 years closed to the public, the Cowley Branch Line will reopen - creating two new train stations in East Oxford. With £120m in central government funding now confirmed - and an additional £35m in supplementary local investment, EIT is proud to be part of the team delivering it and we welcome this fantastic news!

The Cowley Branch Line will link people & jobs:
🚝Connect Oxford’s key economic hubs to London
🏗️Support up to 7,000 jobs at our expanding EIT Oxford campus
🤝Provide fast and sustainable transport for local communities
🍃Drive Oxford’s net-zero ambitions

As part of our commitment, EIT will design and construct the new Littlemore Station, integrated into our wider Oxford campus vision by
. And this is just the start! EIT’s ten year vision as part of the Oxford-Cambridge growth corridor, will see us invest significantly in talent and science programmes.

🌎 💪 Celebrating an incredible achievement by Ami Hodges!

Our Operations Manager for the Materials and Devices for Life Sciences Institute at EIT, Ami Hodges, has absolutely smashed it at the World Championships Triathlon in Australia!

Alongside her exceptional work at EIT, Ami trained for this highly demanding event - and her hard work paid off in remarkable style. She finished 6th in the world in her age category (out of approximately 291 million women globally) and was the top-placed GBR athlete.

Ami’s determination, discipline and drive are truly inspiring, both in sport and in her professional life. We’re incredibly proud to have her as part of the EIT community.
