Sands Theatre Arts School

Sands Theatre Arts School Sands Theatre Arts School first opened its doors in 1999. Since then it has trained hundreds of young people - from the age of 7 to 18 - in the performing arts.

Website - http://www.sandstheatre.co.uk/home.html What is Sands Theatre Arts School? Sandy, the director of the school, was herself a member of a youth theatre in her teenage years. Not only did this experience leave a very positive lasting impression, but it led to a successful career in theatre. Her passion shines through in her work, as does her belief that all young people have it in them to perform. Classes in singing, drama and dance are taught by experienced professionals, all with recent experience of the stage. The emphasis is on fun - while giving each and every child a thorough grounding in the three performing arts. The children grow in confidence, increase levels of fitness and develop their communication skills in a lively, structured and protected environment. The young people are often challenged but never isolated - this is a theatre arts school that believes and develops a strong sense of teamwork. The annual production is a particular highlight, being a golden opportunity for every individual to showcase their skills as part of an unforgettable live theatre experience.

And that's a wrap!
Summer School was a blast this week. We made new friends, sang our hearts out, learnt our lines, danced our socks off, had burgers and sausages from the BBQ, kept hydrated, looked forward to having our friends and family watch us perform on Friday afternoon and ate a fair amount of ice lollies.
You worked so very hard, you had better have some time off now. Have a great summer everyone!

This was a WEEK!
A week brimful of creativity, fun, singing our hearts out, friendship, dancing our socks off, laughing, shouting, working hard, telling a story through acting, sweating, ice lollies, confidence, costume changes, scripts, fun, a live band, dance moves, being loud, teamwork and making memories that last a lifetime. And the energy, OH THE ENERGY!
Thank you to everyone that was involved onstage, backstage, technically, behind the bar, on the door or making lots of noise in the audience.
