THIS WEEK 2:
Please join us this upcoming week 2 on Tuesday 30th April, 2-4pm, LR1, for GTS1:

– ‘Academic Writing for Publication’ –
featuring a conversation between Dr Fitzroy Morrissey (Associate Professor of Islamic Studies & Law)
& Dr Umberto Bongianino (Lecturer in Islamic Art & Architecture)

that aims to support graduate students working on long-format writing like theses & monographs.

Fitzroy Morrissey is associate professor of Islamic studies and law at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and tutorial fellow in Arabic at Pembroke College. His main areas of research are Sufism, Islamic law, and modern Islamic thought. He has written three books and numerous articles and book chapters aimed at both scholarly and general readerships.

Umberto Bongianino is departmental lecturer in Islamic Art and Architecture at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. His research interest focuses on the architecture and material culture of the Islamic dynasties that ruled across the mediaeval Mediterranean between the 10th and the 15th centuries.
