This week in Moorhens we have been working on our coordination skills and team work during our PE lessons. Exploring our local community leisure centre: we took on different roles and worked together to play different games using a range of equipment.
We love learning new skills and exploring different places.

🦆 ✨ A very special visitor to our school! ✨ 🦆
Today, the children were treated to a wonderful live performance of The Ugly Duckling!
They were completely immersed in the story, joining in with the action, helping to bring the scenes to life and even throwing autumn leaves as part of the performance!
There were lots of smiles, laughter and excitement throughout. A fantastic opportunity for our children to experience the magic of live theatre right here at school!

In history this week, Rivers we have been learning about Moving Oxford. We explored how Oxford has changed from the past to today. We heard historical photographs and a modern map to compare Oxford in the past and present, by identifying key features and different ways people travelled around the city. We discussed what had changed and what had stayed the same and used historical evidence to support our ideas. 🗺️🌿🎓

During our Play Projects time, children have the opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life through purposeful and creative play. They are encouraged to revisit and apply the knowledge and skills they have been developing in class, while making connections across different areas of learning. Through these experiences, children develop their independence, communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills, whilst building confidence and enjoying learning through play.
