Winter Nature Walks!

“What happens to the leaves after they fall from the trees?” “Do they ever feel sad?” “Why do the trees drop all of their leaves, aren’t they cold?” “Wow, listen to the noise the leaves make when you stand on them!” “How do birds stay warm?”

These are just some of the many questions that may arise whilst investigating nature. The crunching of the leaves, the frost on the branches, the birds staying warm. Outdoor learning can truly encourage us to explore the world around us! Nature walks offer us so much, not only do they expose children to the amazing world of nature around them, they also allow educators and parents to link so multiple areas of learning to that one walk.

Learning doesn’t have to be restricted to a classroom, there’s so many amazing discoveries and adventures to be had! 🪱❄️🍁🦉

✨ Why is it important for children to experience the rain through play? ✨

Keeping children inside when it's raining limits their experience of the world! There's so much joy to be had listening to the splash a puddle makes when it's jumped in, or in trying to recreate the sound of the rain with our instruments. New wildlife comes out in the rain for children to see, and things smell and feel different when it's raining. It’s such an amazing experience, and as long as children are dressed appropriately the rain can be an amazing experience
