Leah competed in the 123.ie National Outdoor Juvenile ‘B’ Championships at Tullamore in July, competing in the U15 800m where she placed 4th, narrowly missing the podium by a mere 50 milliseconds! This was a fantastic result in a strong field!

Tomorrow, we will have all lost property from throughout the year displayed in the Sports hall.
Pupils can come to claim their items (if named), or they can purchase an item (£2) with all proceeds going to charity.
We really encourage parents to name all parts of uniforms, tracksuits, PE kit etc, as this year we seem to have a record number of lost property items! If they were named, it would be easier to return to the owner.

Pupils can come to the Sports hall period 3 tomorrow.

Our Year 8 boys enjoyed an exciting afternoon of cricket as we hosted RSD.

In Game 1, Omagh made a strong start with some excellent bowling from Kobi Rainey, Isaac Moore and Aaron Armstrong. Seth Clarke and Sam Goldie then shared an impressive partnership, combining for 25 runs. Omagh needed just two more runs for victory when RSD claimed the final wicket, securing a narrow win in an exciting match.
In Game 2, Omagh again bowled first, with Alfie Woods producing the standout performance with the ball. RSD posted a total of 94 runs, but Omagh successfully chased down the target in the 14th over. Freddie Russell top-scored with an impressive 25 runs and was well supported by Sam Crawford and Robin Lyons.

Well done to all the boys involved 🏏

⚽ YEAR 8 WORLD CUP TROPHY CHAMPIONS! 🏆
What a phenomenal day of football at Omagh Academy! Eight teams—Argentina, France, Spain, England, Portugal, Brazil, Germany, and the Netherlands—battled it out on the pitch, showcasing incredible talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The standard of football was through the roof, but a few standout moments stole the show:
🚀 Goal of the Day: M Donnelly
🧤 Save of the Day: C Stevenson
⭐️ Player of the Day: J Large

After tense group stages the drama kicked off in the semi-finals! Spain secured their spot in the final with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Portugal. Meanwhile, Brazil and England played out a 1-1 draw, with Brazil ultimately edging through on penalties.

🇧🇷 The Grand Finale 🇪🇸
It all came down to an epic showdown between Brazil and Spain. With nothing to separate the two sides after a thrilling match, it went down to the wire once again. Brazil proved to be the penalty shootout kings, ice-cold under pressure to claim the trophy and be crowned World Cup Champions! 🥇🎉

A massive congratulations to all the boys who took part today—you did yourselves and the academy proud.
