This week is National Cadets Week so it is fitting that two of our pupils who are part of the Omagh Open Detachment shone a spotlight on the different aspects of Cadet life.

They shared about the skills, friendships and experiences that being part of the Cadets offers.
To date they have had varied experiences including hiking the West Highland Way over 6 days in August and gaining First Aid Skills.

⚽️Football News⚽️

The under 14 boys footballers played in the preliminary round of the NISFA Cup today against St Aidan's Derrylin. It was a tightly contested game of football with little to separate the two sides. A fantastic strike from distance by Armstrong broke the deadlock only for St Aidan's to equalise 5 minutes later. The game finished 1-1 and went to penalties. Two excellent saves from Young and 4 tidy penalties from N Clarke, Dalton, Oliver and Armstrong made the difference on the day. OA march on to round 1! ⚽🔵🟡

On Friday (02/10/26), our Year 13 Health and Social Care pupils enjoyed an educational visit to Springlawn Nursing Home in Omagh. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to see first-hand how a nursing home promotes high-quality care and supports the needs of its residents, helping pupils with their coursework.

Pupils received an excellent presentation from the nursing home manager, Clara, who provided valuable insight into the setting and the care provided. They also enjoyed spending time with residents, chatting, playing games and even doing some nail painting!

Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to return again soon. A sincere thank you to Clara and her wonderful team for their warm welcome and for providing such a valuable and enjoyable learning experience.
