⚠️New product recalls: Aptamil and Cow & Gate first infant milk and follow-on milk.

Danone is recalling several Aptamil and Cow & Gate infant formula and follow-on milk products because cereulide toxin may be present in some batches.

Cereulide can cause rapid onset of nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps. It's unlikely to be destroyed by boiling water or cooking.
Even if your baby seems well, it is essential to stop using affected products. If the formula was prescribed by a health professional, consult a pharmacist or other medical professional before changing formula.

⚠️ Nestlé has updated the recall of several SMA Infant Formula and Follow-On Formula because cereulide (toxin) has been found in the product. This recall has been extended to include one additional batch for one product.

🚨What is cereulide toxin?
Cereulide is a toxin produced by some strains of Bacillus cereus. Cereulide is highly heat stable meaning it is unlikely to be deactivated or destroyed by cooking, using boiling water or when making the infant milk.

If consumed it can lead to rapid onset of symptoms. Symptoms caused by this toxin include:
⚠️ nausea,
⚠️ vomiting and
⚠️ abdominal cramps.

✅Advice for consumers

☀️ Summer holidays ☀️

I’ve been looking at the calendar and unfortunately this year I’m not going to be available to run toddler group for the majority of the weeks. So the plan is to shut for the summer and reopen in September (unless there are lots of people wanting to volunteer to run it for a few weeks then please let me know!)
