What another wonderful day weโve had! Year 6 had the privilege of visiting St Maryโs College, Oscott today: they have been fantastic ambassadors of our school by embracing new opportunities and asking the seminarians excellent questions. We ended the day by celebrating Mass together in the beautiful chapel ๐๐ผ
Well done, Year 6 โจ

The whole school has focused on โThe Great Big Green Weekโ this week as part of Climate Justice Week. There have been so many wonderful letters to tomorrow written as the children thought about how they want to protect their future and make sure Earth will be well cared for. From Nursery up to Year 6, amazing conversations have happened about the importance of being Stewards of Godโs creation and protecting our Common Home. ๐โป๏ธ๐ณ

Year 5 enjoyed a special visit last Friday! Alison from Litter Watch led the children in exploring the impact of litter on our environment and taught us how to use our local bins in Sandwell to keep our community clean and protect wildlife.โป๏ธ๐ณ
To put their faith into action, Year 5 created their own seed bombs inspired by nature and carefully placed them across the school grounds. This helped them to understand how even small actions can make a positive difference to the world around us, encouraging biodiversity and creating habitats for bees and butterflies! We are so proud of your enthusiasm and care for Godโs wonderful creation Year 5! ๐ฑ๐๐

Year 6 have had a fantastic and inspiring day at St Chadโs Cathedral in Birmingham today. They listened attentively and learnt so much about the history of the cathedral and the Archdiocese of Birmingham. The guides were blown away by their knowledge and understanding of the Sacraments and the life and works of key figures from the People of God. Well done, Year 6 - we are so proud of you! We are delighted to announce that St Francis Xavier have achieved the CAFOD Live Simply Award. Our children, staff, parents and wider school community have been working hard over the last 18 months to take action to live more simply, sustainably & in solidarity with our brothers & sisters around the world. We are delighted that our faith in action has been recognised & we look forward to continuing to build on the work already done to continue helping those in our school, local & global community as well as looking after the beautiful world God gave us ๐๐ Emmaus Catholic Multi-Academy Company CAFOD Archdiocese of Birmingham Sarah for West Bromwich

To celebrate Pentecost, our nursery children learned about how God sent the gift of the Holy Spirit and how this is represented by flames apppearing above Jesusโ disciples. ๐ฅ
They explored this through creative art - blowing through straws to move paint into swirling flame shapes and using forks to stamp bright, fiery patterns. ๐จ๐ด
Their artwork was full of colour, movement and imagination - a perfect reflection of the story they learned. โฅ๏ธ

Our special visitors in Nursery this morning! ๐ซ
Our local PCSOs came in this morning to talk about their job roles and what they do for everyone in our local community ๐ฎโโ๏ธ
The children had a good go at asking questions and the kind police officer even let us have a look at his handcuffs. The children took turns when passing them around the circle on the carpet โญ๏ธ
A huge thank you to them for taking time out of their busy day to educate our Nursery children and making them smile ๐
The children couldnโt wait to go into our role play area for continuous provision and become their very own police officers ๐ฎโโ๏ธ ๐

This week in Nursery we learned about Jonah and the whale! ๐
The children loved hearing the story and talking about how Jonah learned to listen to God. ๐
We also had lots of fun making our own whales and sharing ideas about the story together. ๐ฌ
Such a lovely day of creativity and learning! ๐
