🦉 Bridestowe Primary School Owlets Class Needs Your Help 🦉
With lots of hard work today from family and friends, a big tidy and sort out happened in the Owlets class. As you can see it is rather bare and we would like you to carry on being incredibly kind and continue donating resources, so we are ready for September’s intake. Some parents thought it best that I now create an Amazon wish list, so they weren’t buying/donating the same as others. It is now live so please share wide and far by following the link 🫶 We will continue to add bits to the list throughout the coming months.
A big shout out to Mark Scrivener Carpentry for making a bespoke mud kitchen for the outside area and watch this space for more exciting projects! Also, a huge thank you to G D Motors for a very generous monetary donation!
With help from our wonderful community, I know that we can make this the best learning space for our pupils first year in primary school. Thanks again, Mrs Lammas and Mrs Davies

💚☀️ Ice Poles & Play Park! ☀️💚

Tawny Owls enjoyed their class treat today with Mrs Court, Mrs Houghton and Miss Crockett.
Firstly they explored and listened to different stories in our school library (a new class favourite is ‘The Everywhere Bear’) before enjoying playing on the park equipment in Bridestowe Park with friends, then tucking into ice poles during class circle time.
Each child then shared their happy memories and ‘take aways’ from a busy and purposeful year in both Year 1 & 2.
Every pupil shared the equipment kindly, listened to one another and made final memories of their year together.
What a special afternoon. ☀️💚

We have had a wonderful time in the Owlets today with the new Reception children. We spent the day exploring and playing in their new environment and making friends.
We were lucky enough to have some of the year 6 children supporting and encouraging positive learning behaviours. They also helped to make confetti and mark making books to go in the children's starter packs.

🏴‍☠️ ⚓️ Pirates of the Currybean - KS2 Summer Production 2026! 🏴‍☠️ ⚓️

Continuing with our pirate theme in school, parents, carers, staff and the rest of our pupils had the pleasure and privilege to experience the KS2 Summer Production over the last few days.

The acting was incredible, dancing and singing were phenomenal and the jokes made everyone howl with laughter!

Well done to all pupils for all their hard work and perseverance as well as the staff team who directed and supported the children exceptionally well.

🏴‍☠️ 🦜⚓️ Pirate Owlets! 🏴‍☠️ 🦜 ⚓️

This week, our EYFS children have truly immersed themselves into the new ship that had sailed into their classroom.
They have enjoyed dressing up, finding many treasures, created telescopes to keep a lookout, and have enjoyed walking the plank!
Just keep a close eye out out for those sharks!!

🥇🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏼💛 Sports Day 2026! 🥇🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏼💛
All the pupils at Bridestowe enjoyed a fun filled Sports Day on the school field yesterday.
Events such as the sprint, long distance, skipping and the classic egg and spoon and sack races all took place yesterday.
We finished the day with a baton relay in classes before Mrs Counter announced that Ash (yellow) House were the champions.
Today the whole school wss presented with a certificate to celebrate their sportsmanship, team work and determined sporting attitudes!
Thank you to all families who attended our family picnic and supported our young people. As well as the staff who helped run a successful and very fun afternoon of Sport! 💛

🦉 ⭐️ Mini Owlets (New EYFS) Transition Afternoon! ⭐️ 🦉

It was wonderful to have next years’ pupils visit for a transition settling session this afternoon.
The Owlets were incredibly kind and caring, helping and supporting the new pupils to explore our independent learning activities.

We all had a lot of fun in our Pirates themed class and can’t wait for them to visit again next week. 🏴‍☠️🪎🗺️

🧮 🚺🚹 Practical Maths in Year 3&4! 🧮 🚺🚹

Snowy Owls have started a new unit in Maths and the focus on Monday was 'Turns and Angles'.
The children worked in pairs and had to give instructions using specific mathematical vocabulary they had learnt. 'Move anti-clockwise a three-quarter turn'.
Well done to all, this looked like such a fun lesson!

Eat A Rainbow - Tawny Owls DT Food Project!

Year 1 & 2 pupils have been exploring healthy eating in their DT Food lessons and this week made their own rainbow fruit kebabs.
They really enjoyed using their senses to explore the different fruits and then enjoyed eating them all even more.
So many children were brave and tried something new! 🌈🍓🍊🍍🥝🫐🍉🌈
