Passed your test? Brilliant. Now here's something every new driver needs to know. 🚗

For the first two years after you pass your practical driving test, you're under the New Drivers Act. It applies across England, Scotland and Wales.

The key rule: if you accumulate 6 or more penalty points in those first two years, your licence is automatically revoked. You'd have to reapply for a provisional licence and retake both tests.

Six points can come from two speeding offences, one mobile phone offence, or one insurance offence.

Mind and check your mirrors, stick to the speed limit, and put the phone away — every single journey.

Build good habits from day one and you'll keep it for life.

35 PASSES and counting! 🎉🚗

This week alone we've celebrated 3 brilliant passes — Leigh, Ethan and Amy — and every single one of them put in the hard work to get there.

Huge congratulations to Leigh, who passed in Oban in an automatic after an intensive course. She was previously a really nervous driver, but she absolutely smashed through those nerves and came out with a brilliant pass — and she's off to the US soon with her licence in hand!

Massive congratulations to Ethan, who passed in Oban in a manual — a fantastic first-time pass after travelling all the way from Islay. That kind of dedication deserves a big shout-out!

And a huge congratulations to Amy, who passed first time in Oban in an automatic after building her confidence through weekly automatic lessons. Amy passed in her own Motability car, and that brilliant smile says everything about how much the result meant. After getting the help from Motability and us! A thoroughly deserved achievement — we're incredibly proud of you, Amy!

We've now had passes across Oban, Lochgilphead, Inveraray, Fort William and the Isle of Mull — helping learners right across the west coast of Scotland.

The DVSA has updated its 'Ready to Pass?' campaign with a focus on 27 essential driving skills. Their research shows learners who take their test before feeling confident are 25% more likely to fail on their first attempt.

The updated Ready to Pass? website helps you track your progress across all 27 skills. Dinnae compare your progress with somebody else's. Progress is more important than perfection.
