The children are taking part in an archery competition as part of our offer from Elite Sports Academy. We are competing against schools in Rutland, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

Today, we had their head coach support our first match and the children were excellent. We can't wait to see where we are in the league!

AI companions are becoming increasingly popular with young people, offering conversations with virtual characters designed to feel like genuine friends.

Platforms such as Character.AI, Replika and Snapchat My AI can provide entertainment and creativity, but their human-like interactions can also create important risks.

Our latest guide explores:
• Emotional dependency
• Harmful or unreliable mental health advice
• Oversharing personal information
• Inappropriate or explicit content
• Distorted expectations around real-world relationships
• Subscription and in-app spending pressures

The guide also offers practical advice on discussing AI friendships, checking privacy settings and age limits, encouraging offline relationships and reminding young people where to seek genuine support.

⭐️Come and join us!⭐️

🏡 You don’t have to live in Edith Weston to come to our wonderful school. 🏡

We have families from other local areas and are always delighted to welcome new families to our school community!

If your child is due to start school in September 2027, you will already be considering which school will be best for your child to begin their exciting school journey.

At Edith Weston Academy, we are proud to offer 1:1, personalised tours for each prospective family.

We are delighted to have already met several potential new families and have thoroughly enjoyed showing you around our wonderful school.

As a small, thriving school set on the stunning shores of Rutland Water, we pride ourselves on giving children the very best start in an enriching and inspiring environment. Our ethos is 'Aspirational Futures for All Children', and this is reflected in our statutory assessment results from 2026.

Our beautiful school grounds, strong links with the local military community, and excellent facilities - including our very own heated indoor swimming pool where every child will learn to swim - create a wonderful experience from the very beginning.

We warmly invite you to book a personalised tour of the school with our Headteacher, to see for yourself how our school can provide the best foundation for your child's future.

If you are looking for a seamless transition into Reception, we also have an on-site nursery and preschool with spaces available.

⭐️Tours will continue to take place throughout the Autumn term, and you are welcome to contact us on 01780 720025, or [email protected] to book your individual tours. We look forward to welcoming you to Edith Weston Academy.⭐️
