KS2 had an amazing time at the RLT KS2 Athletics last week. Lots of medals were won on both track and field and great sportsmanship was shown by all. It was lovely to hear stories of our older children helping the younger children - what a great team!

What a fabulous time the Year 1 and 2 children had at the RLT Athletics on Friday!
This annual event enables the children to experience sporting activities at a proper stadium, allowing them to run on a proper track, jump into a sandpit and throw out into an arena. The children enjoyed their visit to Corby Stadium and were brilliant at supported each other and giving everything a go. It is lovely to be able to bring children together from across the trust to experience sport in a larger venue.

Year 4 had a fantastic time on their residential in April alongside other Year 4 children from across the Rutland Learning Trust. A real opportunity to face their fears, step out of their comfort zone and work collaboratively. What a great bunch they are!

This is the second year we have supported the LCH Charity with their annual Colourdash. All of the children had a fantastic time (as did the staff) and lots of money was raised for this local charity.

Good luck to all year 6 children across the country preparing for their SATs. Remember that these tests are just a snapshot, on a single day, of the person you are and who you hope to become. They do not measure all the other wonderful things that make you unique and special. All you can do is do your best. Remember, you are not a score or a number, but a wonderful individual who can make our world a better place.

Ten-tickles!
Cobalt Class

We were delighted to be awarded a Silver Mental Health Award at the end of March. This is a testament to the work that all of the staff do to help develop good mental health for the children, and also to how the school works to look after everyone within the community.
People can often be worried by the term ‘mental health’ and it can be seen with negative connotations. It is important to recognise that we all have mental health and that we need to look after it. By making sure we know how to recognise our feelings and begin to learn strategies to help when those feelings are less positive, we can help everyone to have better mental health. Looking after our mental health is not just about those negative feelings, but also about celebrating when things are going well and those things that make us feel good in ourselves.
We were pleased that we scored highly across all of the criteria for the award - achievement of a gold award is dependent on sharing our practice nationally - maybe an aspiration for the future!

What a great day we had when we celebrated World Book Day. The children came dressed as their favourite characters and spent time exploring these in the morning. Favourite books were shared, and parents and carers joined us for our Reading Breakfast. Mrs Creed arranged a fab quiz in the afternoon. Reading fun was had by all!
