🐞🦋🐝 Year 1 become authors! 🐝🦋🐞
This week, our year 1 children proudly visited Reception to share their fantastic non-chronological reports all about bugs!
The children became mini experts as they researched and wrote about a range of fascinating insects, including ladybirds, grasshoppers, butterflies, dragonflies and bees. They worked hard to organise their facts, use headings and write informative sentences to teach others about these amazing creatures.
To make their work extra special, year 1 bound all of their reports together into a beautiful bug book for Reception to keep in their book corner. The Reception children loved listening to the facts and exploring the colourful pages.
We are so proud of year1 1 for sharing their knowledge and inspiring our youngest readers and writers! 📚✨

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Milby Primary School Sports Day 2026 🏅

We are excited to share further details about our upcoming Sports Day, which will take place on Wednesday 17th June 2026.

⏰ Event Timings
• Reception: 9:00am – 9:30am
• Years 1 & 2: 9:45am – 10:30am
• Years 3 & 4: 10:45am – 11:45am
• Years 5 & 6: 1:45pm – 2:45pm

👟 What children need to bring
All children should come to school dressed in their PE kit, including trainers. If the weather is sunny, please ensure your child:
☀️ Has sun cream applied before school
🧢 Brings a sun hat
💧 Has plenty of water in a suitable drinks container

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents and carers are welcome to attend at their child’s allocated time. A designated spectator area will be available, and access to the school site will be via the Reception/Key Stage 1 gate only.

☕🍪 Refreshments will be available to purchase on the day from Friends of Milby. Please note that this will be cash only.

We look forward to a fantastic day of fun, participation and sporting achievement!

🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ Our year 5 children have successfully completed their first day of Level 2 Bikeability training! They have been developing their cycling skills, learning how to ride safely and confidently on the road, and putting their knowledge into practice.
Everyone worked incredibly hard today and showed great enthusiasm throughout the sessions. We are very proud of their efforts and look forward to seeing them continue their learning as they move on to the next part of the course tomorrow.
