It's been a weekend of workshops! I was at Squirrel At Wellsborough this morning with an introduction to charcoal. There were 2 brothers aged 10 and 13 who got a bit creative with the putty rubbers π Lovely results β€οΈ
Time for a sit down and a nap before getting back to the day job tomorrow!

What a brilliant day! Teaching white on black at Bulkington-Village Community-Centre with great results. Safe to say it took some brain power but I just love the results β€οΈ There were even some homemade peanut cookies to keep us going π

A busy class today at Bulkington-Village Community-Centre they worked me hard π Painting a water scene in oils in the style of the Impressionists. Challenging to do as it's so hard not to get too involved in the detail, but they all did brilliantly β€οΈ

Ringo - pastel commission on sandy velour pastel paper.
A returning customer commissioned me for this piece, handsome Ringo π Lots of fur and a characteristic quiff on the top of his head, a very important feature π

I spent a lovely day yesterday when Stratford Art Society teaching coloured pencil and pastel on drafting film. The film can be quite tricky as it is unlike any other surface but they did really well, even if they did have to concentrate really hard π

Finally finished...oil on canvas board. This has taken many hours but feels like it was worth the effort. Got myself totally bogged down in the detail π Base layers/blocking in done with acrylic for a quick start. Couldn't do this without a rigger brush... What a find! I now have several lol

A great visit today to National Trust - Packwood House with my bestie Emma Gluyas Artist A beautiful property full of atmosphere and chatty National Trust volunteers π The cream tea was compulsory π

Fab time spent with the Ansley Art Group drawing a teddy bear with pastels, learning how to use a simple grid to help with drawing. Then water and paint brushes to move the pastel about, blocking in and layering for detail. So there was a lot to think about, thank goodness for the free flowing tea and cakes... Not to mention the banter and hair insults Yoka Lorrier πππ

Great to be back at Bulkington-Village Community-Centre today, first class of the New Year and back to basics with drawing skills techniques.

A couple of places are available for this class on Saturday. We're going back to basics, creating form using line and tone and learning how to create images using these skills. A few fun exercises to start, a bit of practise and then have a go at a still life in the afternoon.
All accompanied with chit chat, like minded people, tea, coffee and plenty of biscuits! Art should be fun β€οΈ
You can book online via my website https://estellerobinsonart.com/index.php/art-workshops/
Any questions just let me know π
