I have been a hobby artist for many years specialising in portraits and pastels. I studied art at Coventry Technical College for 2 years after leaving school followed by a year long Foundation in Art & Design at Wolverhampton Polytechnic. I also worked at a printers in Coventry for 2 years as a Graphic Designer followed by 12 months self employed. Since then I moved into Chemistry, Technical roles

I've not painted a horse for a while, blocking in done, playing with background colour but there's water to paint in this piece so the background needs to be strong.
Looking effective already, the difference colour makes 😍

What a brilliant day ❤️
I’ve been keeping this one under my hat for a little while, but I can finally share it!
As an Associated Artist with Unison Colour I, along with some other artists, was invited to create a piece of artwork for their HQ at Vallum Farm in Northumberland.
I decided to paint a red squirrel as they are found in the Northumberland area 🐿️
On Friday, a group of us who had been selected were invited along to Vallum Farm for a tour of Unison Colour HQ and, most excitingly, the reveal of all the finished artworks.
It was such a lovely day. We got to see behind the scenes and actually watch the process of how Unison pastels are made, I have used them for years, but had no idea how they are made. We also got to roll some pastels ourselves.
Amazing to see just how much care and craftsmanship goes into making each little stick of pastel. It certainly gave me a whole new appreciation for them.
It was also lovely to meet the other artists involved and see all the artwork together for the first time.
I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity and incredibly proud that my red squirrel, Northumberland Red, now has a place at Vallum Farm. ❤️
