Yesterday, one of my students had a craft lesson. We learnt about ‘Girl’s Day.’ March 3rd is Girl’s Day in Japan and displaying ‘Hina Dolls’ as a sign of prosperity for young girls is still a common practice.

This is an おみくじ or a ‘fortune.’
I got it in this nano block blind bag Lucy Jane bought me back from her Japan trip. The fortune uses language that can be related to both the fortune area and nano blocks. Kinda like puns.

The translated fortune is written below:

大吉 - Excellent/Big Luck
関連 - Related (to Nano blocks)

学問 - Education:
こつこつとブロックを積み重ねると吉。
Luck will come your way if you “steadily build up”your knowledge.

恋愛 - Romance
互いに協力して完成させよ。距離縮まる。
“Work together”and you can achieve anything. The distance between you will “shrink.”

失物 - Lost & Found
安心せよ、予備のブロックあり。
Don’t worry, there are always “spare blocks.”
