If you Nordic walk with us you already know how much Nordic Walking can give you, because you’re out there doing it.

But your friends and family might still think it’s simply walking with poles.

This article explains really well why it’s so much more than that. With the right technique, Nordic Walking can bring the whole body into the movement, help with strength, fitness, mobility and balance, and be adapted to suit different ages, abilities and fitness levels.

We thought it was worth sharing with you so you can pass it on to the people who are always asking what Nordic Walking is all about.

They might finally understand why you love it so much and maybe give it a go themselves!

We enjoyed a beautiful Nordic walk today at Colwick, Nottingham. Thanks to Maxine Robbins for great photos and Maggie Bates for being our walk leader. We love our new t-shirts, thanks to some support from Sport Parkinson's, and a local Rotary club 😊
Four of us had a swim and sauna afterwards!

You are invited to join Parkinson's Nordic Walking on Friday 21st August at 10.30am as we join Mayor Claire’s summer of sport in Nottingham.
No previous experience needed and I can lend you special Nordic walking poles and provide training. Bring your friends and family. We meet at Racecourse Rd car park.

Chris Donnelly and I will be Nordic walking 10k to raise funds for a Cure for Parkinson’s on October 11th. I’m inspired by the coastal walk that was taken by Tom Isaacs in 2005. Tom was the inspiration and founder of Cure Parkinson's trust. More details to follow! 🧡 💙
