Soundstrokes is here - a multi-sensory, immersive way to create using sound. With your body acting as the brush, and your voice or instrument acting as the paint, this incredible software champions accessibility and inclusion.

Available for installations, workshops, education, therapy and performance settings, this tech allows users to change their environments with their voice. Each voice is unique, and as such, each creation is like a digital fingerprint.

We are so excited for some of the upcoming collaboration, performances, partnerships, and uses in a variety of settings.

Thanks to Sami Al-Nashee and Ben Fleming-Dufour for the beautiful video, to Nottingham Contemporary for allowing us to try it out on a large scale, to the artists that came to experience it and for all that have supported us, and continue to support us along the way.

A short hyperlapse video of Soundstrokes testing at Nottingham Contemporary. Soundstrokes allows users to paint with sound, with different pitches changing colours, distance changing hues and volume changing the thickness of lines. Body movements can also change the movement of the background. All aspects are very much adjustable, making this a very malleable immersive music tool. The user can use their hand to draw, or feet, torso, even small movements of the head, making it extremely accessible for all.

We cannot wait starting to introduce this to galleries, schools and venues, and seeing how different instrumentalists, dancers and painters utilise this!

As part of The Melody Crafters, Johnny and myself have been working away at creating a means for participants with hearing impairments and SEND needs to experience live music in immersive, multi-sensory ways, from painting an environment with their own voices or instruments, to watching live shows in which every musician has their own visual artistic fingerprint.
The first iteration is here! Users can be motion tracked as they move around a space of any size, with their sound painting appearing on any digital canvas, such as a large screen or a projection-mapped wall. The pitch changes the colour of lines, and the volume changes the thickness.

We are looking for organisations, educational environments, workshop leaders, musicians, dancers and venues that may be interested in hiring and using this tech as we continue developing a 3-dimensional version for virtual reality use. If anyone knows of anyone that may be interested, feel free to put them in touch!
