Shostakovich’s Clockwork Doll
I checked out one more piece before picking up the kids from school. A lot of contestants played Shostakovich’s Clockwork Doll at the last competition.
準備教新一批考試曲目，備課！
I’m preparing to teach my students the new exam repertoire. One of the pieces is Scarlatti’s Minuet from Sonata in A, K. 83 (second movement). ✨😁
The opening two notes make me think of Bach’s Prelude from English Suite No. 2 in A minor it’s so easy to slip into playing the Bach instead. 😁

This week’s challenge for the kids: Guess the sounds and win a…….Care Bears sticker 🤣

The ABRSM YouTube channel has uploaded the 2027–2028 exam pieces. If you’re planning to take the exam, it might be a good idea to let your child listen to them and choose the pieces together. 😉
