Unfortunately, some organisations have a negative approach to training their employees.
Particularly in the use of GIS software like ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro and QGIS.
As the demand for people with these skills is growing, they fear that if they have individuals who are too highly skilled that they will leave the organisation.
This is really self-defeating as technology is changing fast and users of GIS software need to keep up to date.
If they don't keep up to date, how are they expected to do their jobs?
If those using geospatial data are unable to keep up to date, they will get frustrated, disillusioned and ultimately leave for an organisations that WILL invest in their talents.
So if an organisation thinks investing in training is expensive, then they really need to think about how much more costly NOT investing in training is to their company.
Not only in the loss of key people but in morale and the ability of the company to deliver.
To find out more about the flexible and cost effective licence options we have for upskilling GIS users, take a look at our Skills Framework , follow https://learning.gis247.com/skillsframework

Budgets for Learning are no longer an issue.....
Managing budgets for training often meant that some individuals missed out.
That is why more and more organisations are turning to eLearning as it enables cost saving on travel and overnights.
Also, with our subscription model at GIS247 eLearning means organisations can have access via an Ultimate licence for an unlimited number of user accounts.
This option means that EVERYONE with an interest in geographical information systems, using geospatial data or are using specific software products such as ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro and QGIS in their organisation can get access to learning.
It's cost effective whether you wish to give 10 people or 100 people access to a comprehensive, repeatable and always available series of specialist learning modules and courses.
What we have found with enabling this inclusive approach is that organisations benefit hugely as it reveals what we like to call 'Hidden Treasures'.
These are individuals who, with access to unlimited eLearning put in the time and effort to progress along our clear skills pathway.
They become HUGE assets to their organisation as they end up highly skilled and enthuastic to implement what they have learned.
Over the years of providing access to eLearning for GIS users and now within our Skills Framework we have seen many organisations benefit from the rise of hidden treasures.
And its all a result of being given the OPPORTUNITY to LEARN.

The Secret to Employee Retention Is Employee Engagement
Employee engagement is one of the strongest measures for predicting employee turnover.
Businesses who wish to thrive tend to retain their highly talented employees as it typically cost between 50% to 250% of their annual salary to replace them.
Additionally, there are costs relating to the time required to hire, onboard, and train them to do the job.
To avoid all this it's essential for organisations to act and create a work environment that’s diverse, engaging and has high overall job satisfaction.
Access to ongoing learning is a key tool for any organisation to engage their employees and for them to feel valued.
Access to a Skills Framework is the best form of learning as it is clear, structured, recognises achievement and also take the pain away from managers in trying to assess gaps in an employee's knowledge and then source the resources to plug it.
With a well thought out Skills Framework all this has been already undertaken and its simply a case of giving access to employees.
For user of geospatial technology and ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro and QGIS software a specialist framework is needed to provide the learning on the right topics and for it to be software specific.
Our GIS & Geospatial Skills Framework is focused on geospatial and GIS users to support all organisation who recognise the value in retaining their employees.
