Katie Wright School of Dance Performing Arts School Our National award winning school is based at Greasley Beauvale D H Lawrence School, Nottingham. We have free car parking.

After running classes from Kimberley Leisure Centre since 2011, we are delighted to have moved to such a prestigious venue in the area. We offer dance classes to boys and girls from the age of 3. Pupils are trained in ISTD Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Acro, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Singing, Commercial and Progressing Ballet Techniques. All students have the opportunity to take part in examinations,

festivals, competitions, auditions and shows at the Nottingham Playhouse. We provide performance opportunities for our students and have most recently won ‘Best performance opportunities’ a national award given by Dance Business Awards. We have appeared at Birmingham’s NEC, John Lewis, Debenhams, Disneyland Paris and London’s O2. We were silver medalists representing Team England at the Dance World Cup. We prepare our students for auditions and have students who have successfully auditioned for dance colleges from the age of 16 years. Our teachers are qualified, DBS checked and first aid trained and able to teach children of all ages and abilities. For further information, please contact us

Our Tuesday dancers were SO happy to be back! ✨

There were lots of excited faces, happy dancing and plenty of stories to tell after the summer holidays! ☀️ It’s so lovely having our little dancers back in the studios.

We offer a range of classes for children aged 3–10 years on Tuesdays if you are unable to make weekend classes.

Well done Lola!

Not only is Lola currently working towards her ISTD teaching qualifications, she has also completed her training and successfully gained her Acrobatic Arts qualification! 🤸‍♀️✨

Another fully qualified Acrobatic Arts teacher on our team, something we are incredibly proud of at KWSD.

Safe dance practice is so important to us and ensuring our acro teachers have the correct training and qualifications means our students can learn, develop and enjoy acro safely and confidently.

We’re starting the new term with so many exciting things ahead and opening the term as an ISTD Approved Dance Centre makes it even more special! ⭐️

We have a Boys’ Dance Class!

Many of our boys also play football, basketball and other sports and dance helps them become stronger, faster and more confident.

Through weekly classes they develop:

⚽ Better balance & coordination
🏀 Agility & speed
💪 Strength & flexibility
🧠 Confidence & focus
🦶 Footwork & body control
🤝 Teamwork & discipline

Our class is led by an experienced male teacher, giving the boys fantastic role models and opportunities. You may even have seen some of our boys performing with Phoenix Boys, who received Bruno’s Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent! ⭐

Whether your son already loves sport or is simply looking for a new hobby, dance is a brilliant way to stay active, build confidence, make friends and have fun.
