The Mature Students' Association (MSA) is a free to join student network. This year we are also looking to introduce some recreational sporting activities.

The MSA has a dual function: firstly to act as a society for Mature Students, providing support, advise and guidance as well as offering a point of contact for any issues or queries you may have. We also organise a range of events and socials including family friendly events, smaller, quieter social gatherings, day trips and big nights out. We hope we can help you at what ever point of your univer

Mature Students in Life-Sciences can enjoy shared space with our Post Grads. We can all also look forward to "School Lunch"-time events, with talks from current researchers and lively discussions afterwards.

It's so great to see Schools becoming more involved with Mature and International Students: In the midst of my finals, I managed to meet up today with the School of Life Sciences, Caroline Anderson, Student Liaison Officer; Amma Bonsu (Athena Swan), Chris Anderson (Degrees Admin Manager), Anita Purshottam (PGT Teaching Administrator) and our Teresa Flowers covering the headline topic, and some further developments on Mature Student Support.

For incoming Mature Students we'll also have a life-science focus for Kickstart. For more of what you like, keep a look out on these pages.

See you all soon

We've been inundated with posts in the last few days, so I thought I'd hold off, but there's less than 2 hours left. Quick, quick

It's time to get those creative juices flowing. I'd like to get some banners ready for welcome week, and other events, so we need our name up there - The University of Nottingham Mature Students' Association.

If you have any ideas, any budding artists, drop me a line, or post them here and we'll pick them out at the next committee meeting.

don't worry about dimensions - we'll sort that out

The MSA had its first committee meeting today (yay). We agreed on plans for (mature) student spaces, future events and other stuff. And, yes, cake was mentioned (naturally).

Watch this space for happenings and things.

Will you be our next Mature Students' Officer? Or perhaps you'd like to stand for one of the other positions. Nominations just opened yesterday. You still have time to call out those issues that have been bugging you to be resolved, but they're not being done. Get your coat and step forward.

for Officer! Good luck.

ah, wouldn't it be nice to sit down with other mature students for a slice of cake and a hot drink and a chat? Well, come on over on Wednesday the 25th February at The Hemsley, UP; and/or on Thursday 26th February in Room B07 (Lecture Block), SB.

It'd be great to see you there.

LSE's Institute of Public Affairs sent me an email on Thursday about their UK Constitution project. They want students and academics from as many universities as possible to get together to discuss human rights, the EU and devolution, government and all that political jazz. Would you like to get involved too? They're holding an event in Nottingham on 11th February if you'd like to take part - drop me a line.
