Year 11 enjoyed the annual tradition of shirt signing today as they came together as a whole year group for one of the final times, before the next stage of their journey.
The gathering was filled with memories, laughter and heartfelt messages as pupils and staff signed shirts, shared good wishes and reflected on the experiences, friendships and achievements that have shaped their time together at Trent so far.
While today marked the end of an important chapter, it is by no means the end of the story. Many pupils will continue their journey with us in Sixth Form, while others will take exciting new paths elsewhere. Whatever comes next, we are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in their exams and the years ahead.

Our Year 13 pupils are looking ahead with confidence.
Last week’s PSHE session introduced students to the Old Trident Network, highlighting the many ways Trent continues to support pupils beyond Sixth Form, from mentoring and careers advice to events and professional connections.
A highlight of the session was hearing from Old Trident Amalia Morris (Class of 2021), now studying Medicine at Newcastle University. Her honest reflections reminded pupils that not having everything figured out is completely okay, and that every journey is unique.
As our pupils prepare to take their next steps, they do so knowing they remain part of a strong, supportive community for life.

Edale in the Peak District provided a stunning backdrop for our Year 8 residential trip last week.
With sunshine throughout, pupils fully embraced a range of outdoor activities, including caving, canoeing, moorland orienteering, night hiking, treasure hunting and weaselling (a form of above-ground caving).
They made the most of the outdoors while building friendships and developing teamwork, resilience and confidence.

Good luck to you all.

As we get ready to gather for tonight’s Annual CCF Dinner, it’s a fitting opportunity to look back on one of the highlights from earlier this year, the Army and RAF CCF sections completed their March Field Days with a range of activities and weather.
The Army section deployed to the Yardley Chase Cadet Training Centre, near Northampton, to complete an advanced fieldcraft training package. Cadets were taught how to patrol, the actions upon contact with the enemy, rescued a downed pilot and took part in an ambush. All cadets had the opportunity to fire their weapons under supervision.
The RAF section completed a programme of activities with two key foci: what has shaped the RAF in the past and what will the RAF do in the future. A visit to the National Memorial Arboretum allowed the cadets to develop an understanding of the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces in past conflicts. This tied into a talk about the Dambusters before being brought up to date with briefs about the Chinooks of 7 Squadron and RAF Space Command. The concept of dogfighting satellites in space was a highlight for the cadets.
Throughout the two days, all cadets were developing the attributes that we value so highly. Their resilience was tested by the weather conditions and the unfamiliar situations they were finding themselves in. The cooperation and collaboration skills of all the cadets were vital as they worked with other cadets to achieve tasks in short time frames, simulating real-world activities and helping to develop that resilience. The leadership of the senior cadets was developed and put to the test as they led sections of junior cadets to achieve the training aims.

A fantastic day at the Derbyshire Schools County Golf Championships at Chevin, with seven of our pupils representing the school brilliantly.
Frankie finished as overall winner and Trent secured the title of overall School winner, an outstanding achievement. As a result, Frankie, Luca and Aston have now qualified for the National School Finals!
Huge congratulations to all involved for their hard work, focus and composure throughout the competition.
