It’s been a fantastic start to the new academic year across our academies, with pupils and staff settling back in and plenty already happening. 📚✨

At Radford Academy, pupils welcomed their local MP, Lilian Greenwood, alongside councillors Farzanna and Fozia, for an engaging Q&A session. Pupils asked thoughtful and confident questions about life as an MP, the issues that matter to their community and the future of the city. A brilliant opportunity for pupils to have their voices heard and learn more about the world around them. 🗣️🏛️

At Da Vinci Academy, students have been focusing on starting the year positively, exploring expectations for learning and the importance of challenging themselves, staying focused and embracing mistakes as part of the learning process. 🌟

There have also been some exciting changes to learning environments. Birley Primary Academy has unveiled its new Birley Book Woods, a creative new reading space designed to encourage pupils to pick up a book and enjoy reading, while the academy also marked National Read a Book Day with plenty of opportunities to share stories and recommendations. 📖🌳 Over at Bishop Alexander Academy, pupils have returned to a newly refreshed Early Years classroom, ready for another year of exploring, discovering and learning. 🌿

A brilliant start across the Trust, with lots more to look forward to as the new academic year gets underway. 💫

A few more moments from GCSE Results Day across our secondary academies 🎓💙

It was brilliant to see so many of our students celebrating their achievements with friends, families and staff after all their hard work.

Congratulations once again to everyone who received their results yesterday. We’re incredibly proud of you and wish you all the very best for what comes next 🌟

Today marks an important milestone for Year 11 students across the country, and we’re incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of students at Da Vinci Academy as they receive their GCSE results 🎓
There have been some fantastic individual performances, including Mazie Seal, who achieved a 9-8 in Combined Science alongside several grade 8s, and Mabel Underwood, who also achieved a 9-8 in Combined Science with grade 8s in Maths, English Language and English Literature.

Head Student Thinuli Wassini, who moved to the UK from Sri Lanka four years ago, also achieved a strong set of results, including a 7-6 in Combined Science and a grade 7 in English Literature.

These results reflect the hard work, resilience and determination shown by students throughout their time at Da Vinci Academy, as well as the support and encouragement of staff and families along the way.

Headteacher Jayne Scattergood said: “We are immensely proud of every student receiving their GCSE results today. Their achievements are the result of hard work, resilience and a willingness to embrace every opportunity during their time at our school.

“Whether they are progressing to sixth form, college, an apprenticeship or the world of work, we wish them every success in the next chapter of their journey.”
