We are Women in Finance, a division within NEFS – The Nottingham Economics and Finance Society. As a division, our conscious aim is to promote the progression of women within the financial sector, by generating awareness about roles and firms, and hosting informative yet enjoyable events. We want to provide an empowering support system, from which women can learn, network, enhance their knowledge
and most importantly gain confidence to reach their full potential within the financial world. We want to inspire women, and create an established network of like-minded women, who provide advice, share contacts and most importantly, first-hand experiences. In order to do so, we host a number of events that aim to increase awareness and improve soft skills, including CV and skills workshops, application advice sessions, and also networking and panel events. Our events will be held at appropriate times throughout the year, however many will take place during first term in order to adhere to application deadlines. They will be located in various lecture theatres on University Park in the evenings, however will generally be located in either the Student Union (Portland Building) or the Sir Clive Granger Building. We hope that through our range of talks, events and workshops, we will encourage women to consider a role in the finance industry. We also hope to enhance the skills and knowledge of those who already had finance career related aspirations, in the hope that our members will be continually ambitious with their future prospects in the finance world.
