We’re getting abstract and inky for our next craft social at The Artichoke Pub: Liquid Luck 🧪🎨

This time, we’ll be experimenting with intensely pigmented liquid watercolours (and a little chemistry) to create fluid forms and unexpected effects. As always, we’re focusing on play and process above perfection, and this one’s definitely equal parts art workshop and science experiment!

Inspired by the gorgeous watercolour works of Vanja Vukelic, Elif Zaim, Michelle Armas, we’ll play with lots of tools, techniques and unusual additions, from spray bottles and pipettes to lemon juice and rice grains. It’s all about the happy accidents.

Whether you’re a painting pro or usually avoid paintbrushes like the plague, join us for some low-pressure creative play (just maybe don’t wear your best clothes - this could be a messy one!)

Just a little reminder that our Summer Creative Club is coming up soon ☀️🎨

Tickets for our Parent & Child workshops have been selling super quickly - our 9:45 Swirl & Splash session is fully sold out and there’s only 1 ticket left up for grabs for the 11:45 session!

Snap it up quickly if you and your mini maker fancy some water marbling magic ✨🌈

Quite frankly having the dreamiest summer of community based creativity ☀️🎨⛱️

Highlights so far:
- Bead weaving on the beach
- Scratch art in the skatepark
- Printmaking in the pub garden
- Colour chaos* in the park

*Not sure how to define this workshop but it involves spray bottles, pipettes, food colouring and lots of mess (and it might we one of our favourite ones yet)

Feeling super lucky to get to be part of some of the most fab community events, from Freshly Greated (CPP)’s Summer Socials to Norwich Science Festival’s Bugs & Beasts and the The Artichoke Pub’s gorgeous NR3 jamboree.

Love love love getting to meet you all and make silly stuff together ❤️

Fancy some Sunday evening making? We’ll be bringing some of our creative mischief to the fab The Mad Cat very soon 👀🐈‍⬛🎨

Join us on the 16th Aug for Colour Play, where we’ll be getting abstract, using squeegees to make bold, colourful paintings inspired by the likes of Moglea, Lara Fernández and Sharece Studios. We’re not aiming for “perfect” – just playful experimentation and happy accidents! You’ll leave with a stack of weird and wonderful prints (and maybe some paint on your elbows too).

No skills needed – just bring your curiosity and maybe wear something that can get a little painty. It’s just a good excuse to hang out, have a laugh and get creatively messy with some new people!

Wild Friday night activity of sorting my insane box of Hama beads by colour… Preparation for Bead Weaving on the beach in GY next week with the wonderful Freshly Greated (CPP)!

This is the slight downside to getting the majority of our resources second hand (highly recommend Vinted for fellow Hama bead enthusiasts) but luckily I Love To Sort 🤷‍♀️

Norwich Science Festival’s much loved Bugs & Beasts family event is back next week and we’re super excited to be involved! 🐛 🦋🪲

Join us at Harford Park for a fantastic day of free, sciencey fun for families with children 3+. No need to book, just drop in on the day to meet some bugs, try some animal-inspired martial arts, get your face painted – or come and find us for some nature-inspired making!

We’ll be in the Sunflower Snug (a lovely dedicated quiet space) running an Insect Art Lab, ie. playing with spray bottles and pipettes to create some incredible inky invertebrates… 🎨🐞

New craft social alert: Carbon Collage ✂️🔲✏️

We recently stumbled across Lada Chizhova’s amazing carbon paper illustrations (go and check out her work!!) and couldn’t resist giving the technique a try ourselves. Suffice to say, it’s super fun and a bit addictive.

So, for our next session at The Artichoke Pub, we’re taking a little inspiration from Lada’s playful process, as well as the beautiful work of Clare Youngs and Sanna Annukka. Join us for a fun evening exploring a fresh approach to collage that’s all about experimentation, texture and happy accidents. Using carbon paper, we’ll create bold monochrome compositions full of pattern and contrast, while experimenting with mark-making and layering effects.

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just fancy trying something a little different, this workshop is all about playing, experimenting and having a chat – no drawing skills required.
