I had been toying with the idea for a while, so took the plunge and created some personalised baubles.

They have been recieved very well and I am so pleased with how they are turning out. One thing I learned is how difficult it is to take photos of baubles, trying to prevent bad reflections etc. Any tips etc would be greatly appreciated.

I have been playing around with packaging recently.

I hate the plastic waste and cello wraps that most cards come in. I understand that they protect the card from dust etc when sitting on ship shelves, but I don't have that problem.

So I decided to make a change to the way I package my cards for shipping. No more plastic, just 100% recyclable paper and a SimplCards label to seal it.

What do you think? I like that it gives my customers the experience of opening it as if it is a gift to them, before they send it on to someone else.

A beautiful day to be working on the boat. White gloss around the 4 windows yesterday and painting the 76 screw heads in copper. Looks gorgeous when the sun catches it. 20 down, 56 to go.

Not related to greetings cards, but thought I'd share today's session, giving blood.

It feels amazing, knowing that each donation can save up to 3 lives.

If you don't already give, it only takes about an hour (between arrival and leaving) with the actual donation only taking 5-15 minutes max, so is definitely worth doing. Men can give every 3 months, women every 4 months.

Also, the text you receive - saying where your donation has gone - is great. My first donation went to King's College Hospital in London, where they made 24hrs in A&E.

Ps. It doesn't hurt. Its more painful, taking the tape out of my arm hair 6 hours later, than the needle during giving. 😂
