Very proud of these children who not only gave up their Saturday to take part in the Northwich Swimming Gala today, but also tried their very best in every event. They cheered each other on and showed teamwork and resilience. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thank you to Northwich Centurions for organising a great event! 🏊🏻 🏊🏼‍♀️ 🏊‍♂️ Xx

Our choir took part in the community commemoration for the anniversary of the D-Day Landings this evening. Thank you to the Barnton Parish Council for putting on such a brilliant event for our community and inviting us to join. Xx

We are so incredibly proud of our wonderful Year 6 children! They have shown such determination and a positive attitude all week. We couldn’t have asked for more. Today, they enjoyed a treat day and luckily the sun was shining! ☀️💙 Xx

READING WEEK & WORLD BOOK DAY 2024! 💙✨

What a fantastic week we’ve had celebrating the joy of books and reading. Here is a little glimpse into all of the fun we have had!

We have welcomed parents in for Reading Together sessions, dressed up as our favourite book characters, shared stories with our reading buddies across school, enjoyed a bedtime story & hot chocolate, had a class mystery book delivery and hosted a parent workshop. We LOVE reading here at Barnton! 📚

A huge well done to our amazing Gymnastics team today! We are very proud of each and every one of them. We achieved 1st place in the Y3/4 group event and 1st place in the Y5/6 individual competition.🥇Xx

Children’s Mental Health Week 🧠🌱

Day 4 ✅

Today was all about physical wellbeing, and the benefits of being active and outdoors. Despite the chilly weather, we enjoyed moving our bodies and feeling the benefits of this afterwards. Ask your child how they will be more active to support their physical wellbeing. 🏃🏽✨

Day 3 ✅

Today’s learning was all about emotional wellbeing. The children learned about Zones of Regulation, and how to recognise which zone they are in. They also learned tools to cope with those feelings and emotions and added them to their own toolkit. Ask your child about the 4 zones. 😊

& Safer Internet Day 2024! 💻

Day 2 ✅

Today the children learned all about digital wellbeing. The whole school focused on healthy screen time. We explored the benefits of screens, and how sometimes they can affect our mood/sleep. KS2 also learned about how to manage the online pressure from social media, photo apps and group chats.

The children have taken lots of ideas from today’s sessions, and thought about how they can implement a healthier ‘digital diet’ at home.

Children’s Mental Health Week 🧠🌱

Day 1 ✅

Today we learned all about self identity. We thought about what makes us… us! We discussed our personalities, beliefs, appearance and likes/dislikes.

After completing an activity, we completed our Children’s Mental Health Booklet. We reflected on our learning, and what we will do in the future. Ask your child what makes them special and why it’s important to stand up for ourselves. 😊

This week is Children's Mental Health Week. We will be exploring a different theme each day with our children. Keep your eyes peeled on social media for lots of updates.

⭐️ Marvellous Maths! ⭐️

What a fabulous week we had this week celebrating Maths Week. We enjoyed Learning Together sessions with parents, Mastery Maths Crossover with our friends from older/younger year groups, parent workshops, whole school TT Rockstars challenge and we finished with NSPCC Number Day! There has a been a real buzz around school this week! 🐝🤩. Thank you for joining us! 💙
