EMPOWER is a group for 7-14 year old girls, which runs on a Thursday eve each week 🤍

Our focus is to improve self esteem, well being and self confidence for young girls, at the same time as making new friends 🫶🏽

We cover lots of different topics such as body positivity, managing emotions, and social media awareness, all through super fun activities 🥰

Last weeks session we…

Started with a check in ✅

And did a scripted visualisation activity. Before the visualisation we went through the different types of breathing we have learned before, and practiced them again 🧘‍♀️

After the visualisation we got straight into it and drew what we had visualised 🎨

We also included a little bit of information on the different types of breathing and how to do each one 🤍

Our session this week was so much fun! 🤍

We started with a check in ✅

Then we did one of our favourite activities, The Chat show!! Because it was national friend day, we did a full set of friendship dilemma’s, taking it in turns to be an audience member (who helped and gave answers and solutions to the problems), the host (which everyone enjoyed! 🎤) and the special guest. Everybody came up with fantastic ideas!

Our session last week was so much fun!

To celebrate the start of the summer hols we did lots of games, that all link to developing our personal social and emotional skills.

Our favourite was the game of click clap stamp, it made us all laugh lots 🤍

Our first ever Empower awards evening!! 🤍✨

A couple of weeks ago we held our first awards evening, inviting parents and siblings to come and watch their child/sibling get a special award for all of their hard work in class 🫶🏽

Each girl got a unique award written specifically for them and a report to take home ✨

We demonstrated an affirmation activity 🥰

And recapped on the year by looking at some photos 📷

This week, in all 3 sessions we started with a check in, and then had a group discussion about the hot weather, the types of clothes we wear in this weather, and why it is so important that we understand about positive body image 👙

We went on to talk about what we should never negatively comment on, (such as being different sizes and shapes, birth marks, skin types and textures etc) and the effect this could have on others. 🧍‍♀️

Our older group explored this further and we also spoke about body “trends” throughout the years, social media and photo editing 📷

A gorgeous sunny session, well done everybody✨
