🌟 Times Tables Heroes in Action! 🌟

What a brilliant morning with our multiplication group- the energy from them all was incredible! As a specialist maths teacher, this is what I am super excited about 😊🎉!

Our learners tackled:
🏃‍♂️ Relay races of times tables facts to build speed and confidence
🌀 Mazes to strengthen problem-solving and recall
🔮 Chatterboxes for those sticky 6 facts
🎉... and PLENTY of laughter, teamwork and celebration along the way!

The group became a group of Times Tables Heroes, and I can't wait for the next session where we will dive into more fluency games and confidence-boosting activities tk secure those facts ready for the June MTC checks and the move to upper key-stage 2.

My own toddler has been busy creating the most wonderful mark-making this week - proudly telling me the lines and shapes represent characters from stories. Stick Man is the firm favourite!

These early marks are the foundations of:

🦖 Pre-school fun with 'Scaredinos!'

My early-years learner built "scaredinos" using blocks. We explored repeated patterns through play.

*Imagination and storytelling

🌟So many confidence-boosting wins this week! 🌟

✏️A reluctant writer produced a brilliant piece of work using a stimulus. Our writing toolkit included using accurate inverted commas for direct speech which they then applied to the piece of writing.

📖A reluctant reader summarised confidently and responded to W-questions with growing independence.

📮New motivation postcards arrived, ready to celebrate effort and resilience.

➗️I'm also excited to share that I've joined White Rose Education to support mastery-based maths sessions, drawing on my maths specialist teacher qualifications.

✨️ Spotlight on Reading ✨️
📚 Reading is about connection, not pressure. This week we used some new books to build confidence and spark imagination.

👏 One of my reluctant readers absolutely shined this week whilst reading: Snail Brings The Mail 🐌 - the learner summarised beautifully, had a go at reading and answered 5 W-questions with growing independence!
