SEPTEMBER 2026 // I currently have a few spaces remaining for English tutoring, starting in September πŸ“š Whether your child is in Year 6, or in Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9), Key Stage 4 (the GCSE years: 10/11) or re-taking their English Language GCSE, I am more than happy to help, with sessions tailored to their needs.

I can also provide ESOL tutoring for children or adults in the early stages of learning the English language.

With almost twenty years of experience in secondary school education, including as a class teacher, English as an Additional Language Co-ordinator, and as an intervention (SEND & EAL) tutor, I use a patient, encouraging and engaging approach with my students 🎯

☎️ Feel free to call or send me a WhatsApp message for more information, to book sessions from autumn onwards, or to arrange an informal chat at my home near Morrisons Kettering Road, on: 07850151875

Last week my Year 9 student told me that she was unsure how to approach question 3 of AQA GCSE English Language Paper 1 and her PPE (practise exam) is in a few weeks time. So today we focused on structural devices, and analysing what the question is looking for. Next session we will apply what we've learnt to a text and plan how to answer the question together.

Tutoring should always be individualised: What concepts do you need a better understanding of? Which questions don't make sense to you? Let's find those gaps and work together to fill them!

My last sessions before Christmas are tonight! πŸŽ„πŸ¦Œ First and foremost we'll be looking at identifying figurative language correctly. But then I'll be wishing them a well-deserved break with some chocolate 🍬

I'm back! Having had a beautiful summer 🌞 I'm now preparing for the start of the new academic year in September.

Two of last year's tutees have concluded their studies with me, having sat their GCSE exams in June. So I am now taking on new students in Key Stage 4 ( Year 10 or 11) or anyone re-taking (having not achieved a grade 4 on their last attempt).

Most of my availability is during daytimes (9.30am to 2.30pm on Mondays or Fridays) so would suit anyone home-educating who would benefit from additional support, anyone whose child is not in school for any other reason (physical or mental health for example), or any older students who are in college or apprenticeships and have free time to dedicate to their re-takes.

I do also have a limited amount of availability for after-school sessions.

Please share with anyone you know who may be looking for an English Language GCSE tutor, or feel free to contact me with enquiries anytime, by Facebook message or email to [email protected]

I look forward to hearing more about how I can be of help!
