πŸš‚πŸŽ¨ Mark Making Fun in the Baby Room! πŸŽ¨πŸš‚

Our babies had a lovely time exploring mark making by rolling trains through colourful paint and across paper to create exciting tracks and patterns. Yesterday we're said "see you soon" to our lovely Katie as she starts her maternity leave! πŸ’•

Katie has been such a valued part of our nursery family, bringing so much kindness, care to the children, families, and team every day. She will be greatly missed, but we couldn't be more excited for her as she begins this special new chapter.

From all of us, we wish you a happy, healthy, and relaxing maternity leave. We can't wait to meet your little one and hear all about your new adventures in motherhood.

Good luck, Katieβ€”we'll miss you and look forward to welcoming you back when the time is right! πŸ’πŸ‘ΆπŸ’—

🦈 Shark Awareness Day! 🦈

Yesterday our Preschoolers had a fin-tastic time celebrating Shark Awareness Day through hands-on, creative learning!

The children explored blue playdough to create their very own sharks, carefully adding googly eyes and other features to bring their unique creations to life. As they played, we talked about the different species of sharks, discovering that they come in many shapes and sizesβ€”from the mighty Great White to the gentle Whale Shark.

We also explored where sharks live, learning about their ocean habitats and why it's so important to protect our seas and the amazing creatures that call them home. Through imaginative play, creativity, and conversation, the children developed their fine motor skills, expanded their vocabulary, and deepened their understanding of the natural world.

What a wonderful day of learning, creating, and discovering all about these fascinating ocean animals! πŸŒŠπŸ’™πŸ¦ˆ

πŸ‘€ What can you create with just a pair of eyes? 🎨✨

Today, our preschool children were given a simple pair of eyes and invited to use their imaginations to create their own unique picture.

The results were wonderful! Their creative ideas included a dog, a unicorn, my sister, a monster, and my mummy, and many more! It was fantastic to see how the same starting point inspired such different creations, with each child bringing their own ideas and experiences to their artwork.

The children used pencils to carefully sketch their pictures, practising their pencil control and learning to use light, gentle strokes to add details and develop their ideas.

The children made up small stories about their amazing creations, sharing them with their friends. We loved seeing their confidence grow as they transformed a simple pair of eyes into something completely their own! 🌟

πŸƒ Loose Parts & Emotions πŸƒ
The children explored emotions by creating self-portraits using natural resources such as leaves, petals, and wooden rings. They carefully selected and arranged the materials to represent their facial features and express how they were feeling.

Through discussions about different emotions, the children developed their emotional awareness and vocabulary while using their creativity and imagination. The activity also supported fine motor skills as they manipulated and positioned the loose parts to create their unique portraits.

This engaging experience encouraged self-expression, confidence, and meaningful conversations about feelings.
