πŸƒ Loose Parts & Emotions πŸƒ
The children explored emotions by creating self-portraits using natural resources such as leaves, petals, and wooden rings. They carefully selected and arranged the materials to represent their facial features and express how they were feeling.

Through discussions about different emotions, the children developed their emotional awareness and vocabulary while using their creativity and imagination. The activity also supported fine motor skills as they manipulated and positioned the loose parts to create their unique portraits.

This engaging experience encouraged self-expression, confidence, and meaningful conversations about feelings.

🌈 Colour mixing & large scale mark making 🌈
The Preschool room have explored mark-making using a variety of tools and materials to create different lines, shapes, patterns, and textures. They enjoyed expressing their creativity while developing their fine motor skills.

The children also explored the colour wheel, identifying different colours and learning about primary and secondary colours. Through hands-on paint mixing, they discovered how combining colours creates new ones, such as red and yellow making orange, and blue and yellow making green.

This fun activity encouraged creativity, curiosity, and early understanding of colour while supporting communication and problem-solving skills.

Wednesday Walks πŸ‘£πŸŒ³
Today the children enjoyed a lovely walk to the Scouts field where they explored the wonders of nature together. πŸŒΏβ˜€οΈ
Along the way, the children discovered a β€œStick Man family tree,” using their imaginations to create stories and identify different sticks and branches. They also enjoyed making beautiful daisy chains, carefully threading the flowers together while developing their fine motor skills and patience. 🌼
We also explored our physical development with a game of frisbee!
The children were fascinated by the bright yellow buttercups growing in the grass and enjoyed exploring them closely, noticing their colour and delicate petals. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to connect with nature, use their creativity, and enjoy the outdoors with their friends. πŸ’›

πŸ”’βœ¨ Celebrating World Numeracy Day βœ¨πŸ”’
Our preschool children had lots of fun taking part in an adult-led maths game to celebrate World Numeracy Day! 🌟

The children enjoyed spinning the dial, identifying the number it landed on, and carefully matching it to the correct number of bubbles on their cards.

This exciting activity encouraged number recognition, counting skills, turn taking, and problem solving while making maths fun and engaging through play-based learning. 😊
