Ben Kingston-Hughes, the director of Inspired Children Ltd, has over 30 years experience working with children in a variety of different settings. He is the winner of the 2019 National Playwork Awards Training Award and finalist for the Nursery World Trainer of the Year in 2020. He has spoken at National, Regional and International Conferences including Nursery World and the International Play Association. He has written strategies for Local authorities and has written articles for several publications including Nursery World Magazine. His training has gained widespread acclaim for inspiring learners to improve outcomes for children and he has recently been seen on Channel 4 delivering sessions for children. Ben’s new book, “A Very Unusual Journey into Play” is available from bookshops now.
Kelly Sheils, MBK Group
Kelly has been a qualified Early Years practitioner for over 25 years. She has consistently built on her knowledge and experience by completing other qualifications such as a BA honours in Early childhood studies, a level 3 in Forest schools and a level 3 in teaching adults plus much more. Kelly has actively worked in nursery management for over 20 years and has also been a regional manager, successfully opening 9 nurseries for small and large nursery chains.
Kelly has experience of many different curriculum approaches and is passionate about everything early years! She has been training , coaching and consulting in settings for 4 years and her favourite part of the role is meeting new teams and celebrating their strengths, sparking new ideas and working together to build plans to support them. Kelly is a mental health first aider and has a keen interest in mental health and wellbeing she is a Relax kids coach and has written a book to support mindfulness in children.
Greg Wolff is the MD and consultant for The Learning Tree Early Years Consultancy and also owns a nursery. Having been an Ofsted inspector for 7 years and an Ofsted Inspection Team Manager for 2, Greg was then appointed as the Lead Early Years Advisor for the London Borough of Havering. He has worked in a number of different settings in senior roles before he opened The Learning Tree in 2019 and bought his nursery in 2020. He is now a sought after trainer and consultant who brings over 20 years knowledge and lived experience to the role.
Kirstine is a highly experienced early years consultant, author, mentor and contributor to publications such as Teach Early Years.
A consultant since 2006, she has a passion for child led learning in early years and particularly in maths and science.
Kirstine works with settings across the UK to develop engaging, exciting and enabling environments with potential for learning.
Kirstine is also the creator of the Empathy Dolls Approach ™️ to exploring emotional awareness in early years - now used by settings throughout the world.
At home she is mum to a teenage son and her rescued fur baby and can usually be found in her garden enjoying the outdoors in all of its glory.
I'm James and I run NurseryNook Training and Consultancy. I started NurseryNook is 2018 as I wanted to support practitioners more by bringing my expertise to other settings.
I deliver training and coaching around the world specialising around the theme of 'open-ended.' I work with practitioners at all levels to ensure their provision reflects their culture and is the best it possibly can be for their children.
I also sell open-ended resources for Loose Parts Play.
My background is teaching in Nursery and Reception classes in Primary Schools in England. I have also held various leadership positions.
Aim of the conference is to share the passion and love for early years in the Midlands area. We want to Shine for our children.
