Last Forest School of the Summer!!!

What a day??!! After an hour of removing Himalayan Balsam we set off on our interwoven journeys of discovery!!
This was allsorts from rigging, catching fish, making clay dams and clay and bramble art to eel spotting, whittling, carving, creating so very much more!!

The children were phenomenal!! Thank you to parents for your continued support, thank you to Claire for your help, Tom for your eel enthusiasm, Ben for your continuous care for the river!!

It has been a glorious summer at Forest Schools!!

Book now for October Half term Wednesday 28th 9 to 3 and
Wednesday December 23rd 9 to 3!!!!

We started today with a discussion about Skelton Beck-what can we do to help the waterway and what more can we do.

This was after the litter pick and removal of the invasive Himalayan Balsam, which we do every week.

The thing is, we are doing lots already, but I am like an adder basking in the sun as the children at Forest School speak with passion and love for the river and all of its inhabitants. This is their playground, especially kid island (I have a free pass like!) And they care about it, they really do and they recognise its importance and are motivated to do something about it!!!

Children, including my wonderful volunteers, you give me a sense of hope!! You matter! You can do positive things! And you are powerful!!
