Hi, Bella WOOF here with my top run tip of the week.

I’m an Australian Kelpie and love running, more so than the human I think, she says I’m not great with pacing and she try’s to slow me down a bit ! We get snacks, chase rabbits, sniff away and drag the human along the way! It’s often run with my partner in crime Teddy Woof 🦮 but I prefer mum time on my own. ❤️

My top run tip this week is about your easy runs!! We love to stop and sniff and look at the view when it’s easy/ recovery day! That’s ok. Have little stop breaks maybe to cross the road or to check out the view and keep the intensity down. You’ll notice a massive difference whilst you improve your aerobic base and flush out any stiffness from any hard/ long runs you’ve had previously.

Happy Running people 🐾 🐾 🐾 🐾

MEET YOUR COACH

Hi there, Emma from wUrkout Fitness here. I’m a qualified coach, group exercise instructor and Personal Trainer. I specialise in first time runners, endurance athletes, return‑from‑injury runners, and people who want to feel stronger, fitter, and more capable day‑to‑day.

My coaching blends structured programming with mindset support, because progress isn’t just physical — it’s emotional, behavioural, and deeply personal. I love to see you enjoy exercise as much as I do. Clients come to me for clarity and structure and a commitment to helping you navigate the messy middle — the setbacks, the doubts, the days when motivation disappears.

Working with a coach myself has sharpened my own values and made me a better coach. It taught me the power of consistency, the importance of backing yourself, and the difference it makes when someone is fully in your corner. Those lessons shape how I support every client I work with.

I tailor training to your personality, your lifestyle, and your goals — whether you’re rebuilding after injury, chasing a PB, or taking on a bucket‑list challenge. Expect clear communication, weekly structure, and a coach who genuinely cares about how you’re doing.

Being active and especially since running is where I have learned resilience, patience, and the value of showing up. I’m currently training for the 215‑mile Race Across Scotland 2027 — a goal I’m returning to after two major setbacks through injury and illness. That journey has strengthened my determination and deepened my understanding of what it takes to rebuild — physically and mentally, I continue to to be grateful for the opportunities i have, the people i meet and the lessons i will keep learning along the way.

I’m powered by Yorkshire trails, mugs of Yorkshire tea, big goals, and the belief that movement changes lives.

Coaching isn’t just my job — it’s my way of helping people rediscover what they’re capable of.

If you’re ready to commit to yourself, I’m ready to commit to you.

A long warm day in the outside office today (Saturday).

This weekend the Lyke Wake Challenge. Another weekend using an event for training miles. 40miles from Cod Beck Reservoir, Osmotherly to Racenscar. It also marked my 4 weeks to go until RAS!! Gulp!

A really fabulous local, well supported event, staggered starts from 4am to 11 depending on your ‘race’ goals with 7 well stocked checkpoints to the end both food, water and smiles all the way.

A warm one… just incase no one has noticed this weather 😂 I was replenishing my bottles at all checkpoints and was struggling for interest in my food especially my very mushy, squashed hummus and avocado pitta (so sad when I’ve been enjoying these so much). Not really a cake fan I was so happy to see the watermelon and oranges as we got closer to the end, these really seem to help me fuel so I’ll be taking this little bit of magic with me in August.

As the fuelling wasn’t going to plan I used my energies to stay positive, smile. Not many people to chat to as it was quite a spread out race being staggered but concentration was needed not to trip up! lol!

This weeks running was cut due to a ni**le in my MCL which, after a last minute physio appointment, some reassurance that it was just grumpy because my adductors have been working too hard and some glute exercises and rest really seems to have helped so will be carrying on with these now.

Now a hike with furries to finish the weekend!

Don’t forget all this madness is towards that bigger goal of 200 miles across Scotland in August and equally worthwhile by raising awareness and money for climbingoutcharity

It’s been another busy weekend in the miles.

Saturday was a day trip to Muker in the Yorkshire Dales for the DR30 nearly 3000ft of ascent from Swaledale to the Tan Hill Pub.

I took part in this event last year and didn’t have the greatest time with tummy troubles and fuelling issues. This year, completely different 😃💪🏻. Nice and steady, chomping all the way, lots of water, lots of smiles and time to appreciate the best landscape. My favourite part is the second loop up Swinner Gill 🤩

Today an adventure with my lovely friend and pocket rocket Emma to Matlock Skyline 20. This is a fundraiser for the Mountain Rescue and for both walkers and runners. A really lovely relaxed and none race feel to the day we ran, walked, reminisced (Emma grew up in Matlock and I have family nearby). Checkpoints were friendly and well stocked and Emma proved very useful for the voluminous amounts of cows!! When a friend remains your friend when you stand behind her that says a lot 😂😂

The horrendous traffic and lots of travelling this weekend wasn’t appreciated by my right knee but the body is feeling really good and so is the head 💪🏻💪🏻

Don’t forget all this madness is towards an even bigger adventure of 200 miles across Scotland from Portpatrick to Cockburnspath. To make it extra special I’m raising funds for climbingoutcharity

Not all things go to plan but you can take away a lot from these experiences.

Wainstones Marathon DNF though DID get some great time on the legs in a fab route and DID take away some lessons and DID appreciate how hard it is to do training miles in a race event. Oh and I DIDNT 💩 my pants 😂😂

As I hit around 9 miles my stomach wasn’t playing nice and it just seemed to get worse to the point I struggled to fuel and run without needing the loo and energy levels were on a low.

I could dwell on this but any other multi day run I’ve done everyone else has been doing the same so the environment as been different. I also appreciate now how hard I found it to not draw myself into the event itself and just do my own thing.

I’ve still had 2 days of some good time on the legs which will stand for a lot in August - fortunately the next few long weekends are going to be a little easier on the mind so hopefully easier on the stomach.

I’m very blessed to be able to get out on my feet in some amazing places Wainstones is still one of my favourite Hardmoors even if I didn’t run my favourite part today… but it’s right in my doorstep. What a lucky runner I am ☺️❤️❤️

Saturdays are for long runs, stretching, cold water immersion and chips!!!

Before this year i had never taken part in a punkpantherevents and now I’ve completed 3 20 mile distances in wind, mud and sunshine.

The 6 Dales Trail does as it says on the time, following the 6 Dales Trail route from Otley and for the 20mile a little pit stop at Blubberhouses before turning round and running back. A great route though I thought it was uphill all the way up….. it seemed that the incline decided to tilt in the way back! Weird!!

Lesson of the day, be responsible for your own navigation. I was running behind another runner and it wasn’t until he turned to ask me where next that I realised we shouldn’t have even hit to the place we had arrived at!! It meant a big push to make up some time and distance which also affected my fuelling.

It seemed he wasn’t very good at navigation as he wandered off somewhere else later on and didn’t hear me whistling and calling.

The cows had decided to multiply in the field on return 😭 yeah…. I jumped a fence - I couldn’t see a gap and I was on my own🦘

Tomorrow Wainstones Marathin… I’ve stretched, compressed, iced, consumed collagen, creatine, peanut m&m’s and chips…. I’ll try standing on my head too!!

All for miles in the legs towards Augusts challenge.

Did i not tell you... in August i will be running 200... well 220 (Thanks GB Ultras) for this amazing charity.

In April this year was fortunate enough to experience first hand, the magic of Climbing Out and meet their founder, the very inspiring Kelda Wood.

Yes, this post if a nudge for you to check your pockets and support me in raising funds for the charity but its also an introduction - WHO are Climbing Out? WHAT do they do? WHY do they matter?

Do you, or do you know anyone who you feel would benefit from their support? You can get in touch as a self referral and a chat or refer a colleague/ friend/ family member.

Step out of the shade and into the sunshine.

Find out about the life-changing work that our small charity does. ...

Some Monday motivation for you all :)

BECOMING A RUNNER STARTS WITH ONE BRAVE DECISION - TO TRY!

Sometimes the biggest transformation doesn’t start with a finish line — it starts with a single brave “yes.”
That’s exactly how Kheira’s running journey began.

To begin with, she didn’t feel capable or confident enough to be a runner — but she made one brave decision: to try.

And even before she took her first running step, she had already shown something powerful: consistency.

In her BodyPump classes she was getting stronger every week.
In Cyclone sessions she was building power, resilience, and confidence.
And over just six months, her VO₂ max climbed from 38 to 49.4 — a huge indicator of how much her aerobic fitness was improving behind the scenes.

She was already proving she could show up, work hard, and grow — she just needed a way to channel that progress into running.

Once she committed, everything changed.

Kheira’s Parkrun Progress
FIRST 5KM: 24:07
28 Feb 2026: 22:51
7 March 2026: 21:55
30 May 2026: 20:41

Nearly four minutes off her time — built through discipline, structure, and the same consistency she’d already shown in her classes.

Now she’s training for her first half marathon in October 2026 — something she once believed she couldn’t do.

In Her Words
“Emma’s coaching has provided me with structure to greatly improve my fitness through a supportive, tailored, and sustainable approach. Thanks to her guidance with both run coaching and personal training, I've achieved significant improvements in performance, strength, body composition, and mindset, and I'm excited to continue progressing with her support.”

This is what happens when you combine courage with consistency — and back yourself long enough for the results to show.

If you’re ready to build confidence, structure, and sustainable progress, my Run Coaching & Personal Training programmes are here to support you every step of the way.
