Last weekend I spent a few hours teaching 10 lovely ladies how to decorate cupcakes for Kathryn’s hen do.

I themed the colours of the sugarpaste and buttercream to match their theme and they all did an amazing job of creating their own individual box of cupcakes.

Every time I go to one of these weekend hen events it makes me wish I knew more people getting married as I’d love to go on a full weekend of crafts, cocktails and celebrations. And the venue they chose for their weekend was absolutely stunning, the best hen party backdrop I’ve ever had!

Apologies to the really lovely lady in the red top and shorts, I couldn’t resist taking a picture while she adopted her piping stance!

Recovering from major surgery and need a relaxing activity that doesn’t require walking, bending, lifting or anything more than gentle movement?
If you’re my son, then I’ll cajole you off the sofa to “do something creative”. I promise he did actually enjoy it.

Proof, if it was needed, that creative activities are perfect for many occasions; pre-wedding or hen parties, staff team building, birthdays, or even a post surgery activity.

Well this little video feels like forever ago. I fully planned on spending a little downtime in Cornwall while visiting my son, posting about my creative pre-wedding parties. Alas on his 20th birthday, my beautiful boy was rushed to hospital in an ambulance with appendicitis. Several complications and days later, he was finally discharged but all thoughts of hen parties had left my head entirely.

Soooo back on the 1st of March, at the stunning I attended the third fair.
And as a change to my normal set up of statement cake and photo books, I decided to focus on my creative hen parties. Though these parties are not just for hens so from here on in they will be known as “pre-wedding parties”. In actual fact they don’t have to have any relation to weddings at all but for today’s post I’m sticking with PWP.

My wonderful friend Penny decided to interview me to ask about my slightly new direction and although the sound is a little rough due to the wedding fair crowds, it does kind of sum up what my stand was all about that day.
I’ll share some more specific posts in the next few weeks to explain more in detail.

Now that I’m settled in my new house, I’m finally back to teaching some group classes. Kicking off with a Spring Florals Cupcake Class 🌸🧁🌿

Get creative this Spring!
Join me on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for a fun and hands-on cupcake decorating class. For £26, you’ll learn how to create beautiful floral cupcakes and take home your delicious creations!

We’ll start by choosing a color scheme for your cupcakes. Then, I’ll guide you through several techniques for crafting sugarpaste flowers. You’ll learn buttercream piping techniques on a box of four freshly baked cupcakes*, which you’ll then decorate with your handmade flowers, edible glitters, and sprinkles.

All materials, equipment, and aprons are provided. Just bring yourself and your creativity!

Morning!

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed the change in name for this page. And for the equally eagle eyed of you that have followed me for a while on Facebook, you’ll know that my posting is, at best sporadic!

I struggle to post in various places and with any sensible intention. Business coaches and social media experts out there are shaking their heads at my lack of consistency.
