Our book club met last week. We meet once every two months to give us plenty of time to read and share the books. It is well attended and pretty relaxed.

We have just finished My One True North by Milly Johnson. In generalbtge feedback was very positive. Although a few thought it a bit contrived one person thought it's the best bookclub book she's read so far.

Our next read is Frank & Red by Matt Coyne.

At our meeting this month Sue and Laura from New-U came along and using 6 of our members as volunteer models put on a wonderful fashion show. It was a great evening.

Working from only photos of the models together with basic details on sizes Sue did an amazing job providing 3 outfits each which fitted really well and suited them.

The ladies were unused to the catwalk but did a superb job showing off the pre-loved clothes. We also learned about the good work done by New-U and at the end of the meeting were able to browse through and buy clothes from the rails brought along.

A massive thank you to Sue for all her hard work in sorting the models clothes and also to Laura and the models in making the evening work so well.

Another busy and engaging meeting this evening with a talk by Elaine Spencer on Women's Intuition through the ages including some fun activities.
It was interesting to hear how we all have varying ideas on exactly what Women's Intuition is and how it originated.
Thank you Kathy for organising a super Easter Raffle

Our book club, "Books Rock" is well attended and meets every other month. This allows time for us all to read the book especially as sometimes we need to share. It is quite relaxed with no pressure to finish (or even read) the books as we always enjoy social time as wrll.

We have just finished The Foundling which was generally well liked with several particularly enjoying the historical details.

Our next book is My One True North.

PC Alex Barnes joined us for our February meeting and gave an interesting talk on local policing and scams.

It is reassuring to hear that North Walsham is in general a safe place to live and to hear how anti-social behaviour, including "boy racers" are handled.

Although we are all aware of many types of scams it was good to be reminded of what to look out for and what we can do if we have any worries or concerns.
Never be rushed and be prepared to get a second opinion. The scammers are very good at their "job"

A lovely evening of fun and friendship for our annual Christmas dinner which was fabulous πŸ˜‹ πŸŽ„ Norman the Gnome made his annual appearance in his finery and we had some beautiful homemade cards and entertainment from our members. The secret Santa as always was a bit of a muddle but we got there in the end! Thank you everyone and Merry Christmas πŸŽ… πŸŽ‰πŸŽ„

After the formalities of our General Meeting tonight we enjoyed a "cheese evening"
A quiz with all questions based on cheese - some we knew the answers to and others we had no idea!
And 6 different cheeses to taste and identify - that part was a bit easier.
Followed by refreshments and a Christmas based raffle.

Sweet dreams everybody πŸ§€

This month our speaker was Stacy Cronly-Dillon from Sunny fields Apiaries who entertained and educated us talking with passion about her love of bees.
Her enthusiasm shone through as she covered their evolution, lives and work as well as how she started owning a few bees and how her business/hobby has grown.
Members asked several questions one of which led us to learning about the exploding bees!

We had a fascinating talk and demonstration on spoon carving this evening by Fay Jones. The first picture is of the sppon she carved in front of us. Some members took the opportunity to try some carving after the display. As usual followed by refreshments and chatter.

Our summer outing, an evening spent on the Norfolk Broads on a sunset cruise. Wonderful to be out in the beautiful countryside, to hear about some of the history of the area and we were able to see herons, ducks, geese etc, even a kingfisher.
A most enjoyable trip with time to relax and chat.
