I am a level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner with 3+ years experience of working with young children in a nursery setting, as well as having 13 years experience of being a mum, friend, (and teacher!) to three children. I am Ofsted registered and offer a nurturing ‘home from home’ environment for children aged 1-4. I have a wonderful garden room and large garden that has been carefully designed to encourage children to learn independently in a safe and supportive environment that promotes equality and diversity. The vision to establish my own childcare setting comes from raising my children and from my nursery work experience where I quickly realised that many children would benefit from a smaller setting. I believe that one to one attention is invaluable although often impossible in larger nurseries. Fast forward to now and seeing the challenges of Covid on society, on children and childcare in particular, has given me the extra push to launch Little Londoners Childcare Limited. My aim is simple - to provide a safe, fun and educational environment where children can be children and where they can flourish. I firmly believe that children learn through play and activities that are planned according to their individual development, interests and needs. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum . I provide lots of fun activities, experiences and resources to meet the childrens individual needs. I provide a good balance between free and structured play and the activities change as children develop. I have a dedicated space that is inspiring and uncluttered so that children can explore and create. I have a good range of materials that children can engage with, including loose parts such as bricks and blocks and natural resources such as twigs and acorns (and the odd dinosaur!) - all carefully curated to allow little imaginations to run free. My garden is walled/fenced in, has a decked area, an artificial lawn which promotes play all year around and a covered area to shelter from sun or rain. I provide healthy, nutritious, home cooked (and familiar!) meals using fresh ingredients that promote long term healthy eating. The menu includes a variety of food and drink whilst covering the 4 food groups each day to ensure a good balance of nutrients. My Ethos is therefore simple to treat every child as if they were my own - with respect, compassion and sensitivity. I embrace equality and individuality and value strong relationships with parents and guardians.
