You'd be surprised how often I have to go through this during my lessons when a student struggling with a new piece.

A riff that this can immediately be used for is 'Message in a bottle', it's a great song to help exercise keeping the hand in a flatter position.

Some gigs are better than others 👑....I was part of the 'best' of Newtownards last Thursday playing some live music with other local businesses.

I spoke to King Charles about how the music school is growing, currently the highest rated for the area and largest student count. We chatted how this has been a positive impact for the community and students alike.

Most players think this riff is about speed.
That’s exactly why it catches so many people out.

The real challenge is keeping it clean, relaxed, and locked in all the way through — it shows you very quickly where your timing and control really are. That’s why pieces like this are so useful to practice.

This is actually a track I give a lot of students when they’re moving from beginner into intermediate playing — it highlights the fundamentals that really make the difference.
