Carrowdore Early Years Centre

Today we had a dress up day in preschool! We had characters from Steve to a dinosaur! And lots of princesses too! All the children had lots of fun dancing and singing along to songs!🕺☺️

Today we had our colour run!!

There was lots of smiles and laughter as the children ran and got covered in colour!
It was lots of fun!☺️🏃

Yesterday, we had a teddy bear’s picnic with P1 in their playground! The children got to enjoy lots of delicious snacks for break and then got to play in the playground! All the children enjoyed showing each other their teddies too! 🧸🧺

On Friday, we had Sports Day! All the children did so well on their race! Afterwards, each child received a medal, certificate and an ice lolly as a well done! We are very proud of them all!☺️

Last week, we had healthy eating week for break! Each day for break, the children got to try different fruit and vegetables! There was lots of discussion about the different kinds of fruit and vegetables, like where they grow and what they taste like! The children learned lots about the importance of healthy eating and they all enjoyed trying something new! 🍍🫑🍇🥝🍊

Today we had a very special visitor in pre school!🐑
One of the children’s mum, Rebecca, brought Gabby the lamb in for all of us to meet! The children got to feed her milk from the bottle and got lots of cuddles!🐑😊

This week, the sun was shining so we got to play out in the garden all week! The children had lots of fun playing in the mud kitchen, on the pirate ship and in the sand tray!
Today, we got to practise for sports day and all the children did so well in their running race and egg and spoon race! We also got to watch the Primary School practise so we cheered them on! It was a great week in preschool!☀️☺️🏃

This morning, preschool were visited by the primary school P1 teachers! They spent the morning getting to know all the children and brought Barnaby the Bear with them to play also! The children had lots of fun talking to Mrs Cousley and Mrs Chesney and we can’t wait to see them again!☺️🐻

Yesterday, we went on a trip to Mount Stewart! The children got to play on the beams and make their own den from sticks! They had lots of fun balancing on the beams and exploring! We then sat and had some biscuits and fruit shoots for break before heading back to the bus! It was lots of fun!🌳😊

On Tuesday, we had Ruth from Bangor Museum come and visit us in preschool! She taught us the Scottish words for our head, shoulders, knees and toes! The children used the map they created to play hide and seek with teddy who went to hide in different corners of the room! It was lots of fun! Thank you Ruth!☺️🧸
