My goal is to make quick, noticeable improvements in students to get them to the stage where they are confident to work independently prior to examinations. My teaching method involves assessing a students ability, pinpointing key areas for improvement, and devising a simple solution. I strive to make the lesson student oriented, always ensuring the lesson meets the needs of the individual. In terms of the quantity of homework I expect, this is often decided following discussion with the parent/guardian. English in particular, is a lot more formulaic than many think, and I believe I can teach this in a way in which even those who struggle with English can achieve. English portfolio work is exceptionally important (30% of final grade). If needed, I take a hands on approach to Creative/Reflective and Discursive/Persuasive essays to ensure the student achieves an A in this part of the course. Modern Studies - I have a studied a multitude of political and economic modules at university, and as a result this is a subject which I am both well versed and extremely interested in. Students typically struggle with understanding voting systems, political structures and more generally exam technique. These are all areas I simplify in order for the student to understand. Geography - Issues students face are often quite wide ranging across physical and human geography. My Business qualifications are as follows:
