Making good medicine! Strained off the elderflower infused oil, gently heated with beeswax shavings and there we have lovely anti-inflammatory ointment for annoyed skin this summer.

Never know when you might need some elderflower tea either anti allergenic or to manage a fever.

Got the bit between my teeth now! So Elderflower cordial recipe:
2kg sugar
2 lemons
20 flower heads
85g citric acid
Dissolve sugar in 1.5l boiling water. Pare zest and slice lemons. Put flowers, lemons, zest and citric acid into receptacle as well. Stir well, cover and leave to infuse for 24 hours. Laden syrup through muslin/ funnel with sieve plate. Fill sterilised bottles. Keeps in fridge for up to 6 weeks. Give some away if you can bear to!

What to make first with these beautiful fragrant elderflowers? Making infused oil for an anti-inflammatory ointment. Gently took off the flowers leaving as much stem as possible- just need a nice sunny window sill now!
