It’s raining, it’s pouring but that doesn’t stop us playing ☔️🌧️☔️
On Thursday the heavy rainfall meant we could get outside, feel the rain & splash in puddles💧 The squeals of delight were very infectious🥰

Super proud to have gained our level one award🥰. A job we’ve been meaning to do over the many years we’ve had our allotment. Thank you Netta for finally sorting it out👏👏

A quiet day at nursery today so we took the opportunity to go into town on an errand. First we went to The Hub for a drink, some toast, a little playtime & the wonderful Tom read us a story🥰. Thank you!! We then went to get some plants from the lovely people by Main Street, who looked after us & we all got to choose something. Finally, this afternoon we potted the plants by our entrance to make it look all nice again🌸🌺

Connection, movement, joy & play, this is what children need to thrive! At Play-Days we do no formal teaching of the academics and no sitting down for long periods as current research shows that this goes against how young children learn best. Movement is key, we need to develop core muscles and strength before we can expect sitting & good pencil control. Of course this can all be achieved through play, both indoors and outside🥰
Look at the difference a year makes for one of our children❤️. Not all children are at this level when they move to school & that’s ok, every child is an individual whose needs we must take into consideration.
Keep moving, that’s the foundation for the many skills children need!❤️

Enjoying the fruits of our labour 🥔 🥔
After months of tending to our allotment plot the children have been harvesting some of our fruit & vegetables this week. Green beans & potatoes successfully grown & sent home for our children & parents to enjoy together 🥰. We also enjoyed raspberries, but they were eaten so quickly I didn’t get a photo of them😂
