Looking forward to my next radio appearance tomorrow morning at 12, and this popped up on FB this morning - a little promo video at the awards last week! Loving this new branch of the Side Kicks journey 🎶🎸🎼

Great session at the Lysaght this evening.
Class 1 split the floor and danced partner dance "Schottische" along with 'California Freeze", and added dance of the same name as the gorgeous Alan Jackson track "Laid Back" to our repertoire.
Class 2 mastered several dances following the merge in May, and made great progress with Luke Comb's nippy "Ain't Far From It". Class 3 loved Suzi Beau's "Buy Myself Flowers", and mastered "The Gambler" - in a circle!
Well done everyone.

Here are the details you've all been waiting for. Put it in your diary and let's keep everything crossed for less wind and rain than last Saturday(!!) although we do at least have some trees and a nice big canopy for some cover. There is no parking space at the house, partly because we share an entrance with nextdoor, and also because we'll be dancing on the driveway 🎶🤠🎶, So please use the CADW carpark. It's just a short walk through the footpath and there will be signs and arrows along the way to guide you.
There's plenty of garden so it would be amazing to see oodles of Side Kicks, and any buddies we've made along the way - instructors, musicians, husbands, partners and children. Any time after 3pm - and until prob 12 hours later if the last one is anything to go by!!

Despite the wind and drizzle, despite the Side Kicks Sweepstake lack of winnings, we had a blast! A first for lots of us, it was a huge success. Right by the side of the race track - we saw all the races!! 😍 Thank you so much to the helpers, stall holders, the fetchers and carriers, to the 50 dancers that supported the event, and to Steve the DJ for keeping us in check!! What a team! We even had loads of willing new, rather drunken by race 7, dancers to end the day on a high. And "Dolly" was a perfect end to the day 🤠

What a venue, what an event, what an awful lot of talent in one room!! So proud to be involved in this amazing scene - of people having a blast making music for people like us to enjoy! Congratulations to all the nominees and winners, especially Greg Ryan for winning the Folk/Country award, and Rebecca Richards for winning the surprise "Local Legend" category of outstanding contribution to the local music scene - so well deserved! 😍🤩🎉 Great night thank you Newport City Radio (loved the matching outfits Kym and Adam) and to Tiny Rebel . And to team members Chelle, Rhi and Sharon for sharing a most enjoyable night with me and squeezing in a couple of dances at the bar - including a dedicated Wagon Wheel from best duo winners Forsaken Duo 🥰 More memories in the bank 🤠

Its happening this week! Thanks to Newport City Radio I'm thrilled to be so involved in this scene, a "front row seat" watching the local music talent grow each year. If you fancy joining me on a fun night out at the awards this Thursday grab a ticket on this link (just a Fiver 😍) and see you there. Parking, food and payment details attached in comment below

I've got them!!! AND we have also been given priority parking right next to the Wild West Lawn! Use gate 7 and gain entry with your tickets. Exciting!!
Extra info... 30 chairs will be provided for us. The turf wasn't slippy (as some of us feared) this morning when I visited in the drizzle. We are sharing the area with the outdoor bar and food vendors - which could be chaotically fun - but also very handy. And 5,000 tickets have been sold!!! It's going to be busy!
