Laureate Community Academy & Nursery Laureate Community Academy is a primary school and nursery in Newmarket, Suffolk which caters for over 250 pupils between the ages of 2 and 11.

Laureate Community Academy is a co-educational Community Primary School, based in Newmarket. Originally opened in 1901 as the Exning Road School, the school is based at the north end of the town and now caters for over 200 pupils. Following development in recent years, the school now has 9 classrooms and a Nursery. Children can start at the school from age 3, enter mainstream school (Reception) at

What an amazing first day back at school! 🌟

The school was filled with excitement today as children arrived with smiling faces, looking proud and smart in their uniforms. There was a real sense of anticipation as they explored their new classrooms, found their seats, and began their next learning journey.

The staff were just as excited to welcome their new pupils and help everyone settle into their new routines and surroundings.

We would also like to extend a very warm welcome to all our new children and families. We can't wait to get to know you and watch you become part of our wonderful Laureate family.

✨ The countdown is over... TOMORROW we finally get to welcome all our wonderful pupils back to school! ✨

The staff have spent the summer preparing classrooms, sharpening pencils, labelling everything in sight, and practising our best "Good morning!" smiles in the mirror. πŸ˜„

We're excited to hear about your summer adventures, see how much you've grown (seriously, did everyone get taller?!), and reunite with all the smiling faces we've missed.

Rumour has it some teachers are so excited they might actually have laid out their outfits a week early, and at least one member of staff has already forgotten where they put their coffee mug. β˜•πŸ˜‚

Have an early night, pack those bags, and get ready for another fantastic year of learning, laughter, friendship, and memories.

We'll be waiting at the classroom doors with big smiles and lots of excitement.

🌟What an incredible year it has been! 🌟

As we come to the end of another fantastic academic year, we're taking a moment to reflect on the amazing experiences, achievements and memories we've shared together.

Our pupils have enjoyed an incredible range of opportunities, from residential trips to Grafham Water, visits to The Jarman Centre and Lab in a Library, to exciting museum visits, zoo trips, a day at the beach, and even visits to local horse racing studs. Years 3-6 enjoyed a visit to the Pantomime-oh yes they did πŸ˜‚. Our talented choir had the unforgettable experience of performing at the Young Voices Concert at The O2, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

We celebrated World Book Day in style, with some truly outstanding costumes from both pupils and staff, showcasing creativity, imagination and a love of reading. We also marked our school's 125th Anniversary with a wonderful Victorian-inspired day, complete with Victorian lessons, activities and, of course, fantastic costumes!

A special highlight was welcoming author James Campbell, who delighted pupils with readings from some of his most popular books and inspired a love of storytelling and reading across the school.

We are immensely proud of our Year 6 pupils, who worked incredibly hard and absolutely smashed their SATs. Their dedication and resilience have been inspirational.

A huge thank you must also go to our amazing PTA, who organised a fantastic calendar of events, including discos, the Winter Wonderland Fair and the Summer Fair. Thanks to their hard work and the incredible support of our families and community, they have raised thousands of pounds towards a new play frame for our children to enjoy.

These are just some of the highlights from a year packed with learning, adventure, laughter and success. None of it would be possible without the support, encouragement and commitment of our wonderful pupils, staff, families, PTA volunteers and wider community.

Thank you all for helping to make this such a memorable year. We wish everyone a safe, happy and relaxing summer, and we look forward to creating even more wonderful memories together next year! β˜€οΈπŸ“šπŸŽΆπŸŽ‰

Today is an exciting day, and we want to wish all of our wonderful Year 6 pupils the very best as they receive their SATs results.

The children enjoyed a fun-filled day of minibeast hunting, nature walks, den building, orienteering, nature bracelet making, and a picnic lunch.

It was wonderful to see everyone exploring, learning, and working together outdoors.

🌟 What an adventure-packed day! 🌟

Today has been full of excitement, smiles, and unforgettable experiences for our pupils!

🐝 Reception – Bumblebees and πŸ¦” Year 1 – Hedgehogs had a fantastic time at South Angle Farm, where they enjoyed getting up close to the animals. There were so many happy faces as the children explored, learned, and made new furry friends!

🌊 Meanwhile, πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈ Year 3 – Merlins had a wonderful trip to Sunny Hunstanton. They had a brilliant time searching for seashells, paddling in the sea, and soaking up the seaside sunshineβ€”perfect memories made by the shore!

A huge thank you goes to Mrs Bursey, Mrs Young, Mrs Turner, and Mrs Baker for organising such amazing trips.

We are also incredibly grateful to all of the staff who supported and joined the visitsβ€”your dedication helped make today so special.
