⭐️TRY IT AT HOME TUESDAY! ⭐️

The babies have been exploring different textures at nursery and this is such an easy activity for you to try at home. They had a tray of green gloop (cornflour, water and food colouring) and a tray with some lentils and flour mixed together. They all had lots of fun exploring the different textures and learning some simple adjectives such as “sticky” and “dry”.

If your child is unsure of exploring textures - whether is be in the context environments, new foods or clothing - activities like this will support them. Sensory play is a great starting point for exposure and by adding toys they are already familiar with will increase their likelihood to want to explore. We added farm animals into ours as these are some of the babies favourite resources, they all had a great time investigating!

A glueing and sticking activity is brilliant for developing hand-eye coordination and motor planning skills. It also helps children understand the sensory concept of stickiness.
